Sending out n-400 application.

Hello VJ members. I think I am right but I want to make sure. My wife has her 10 year greencard and it expires in May of 2023. I want to know that my wife can send out the n-400 application at anytime. She doesn't have to send it out within the 90 days of May of 2014 becaused her 10 year greencard doesn't expired until the year of 2023. If I am right, please let me know. Thank you all.

To receive any helpful answers, shouldn't you at the very least inform:

a) the date your wife acquired her Legal Permanent Residence?

b) the manner in which she acquired this status (marriage, asylum, employment, etc.)

She doesn't have to send it all, she can stay resident as long as she wants to and she will be able to file for citizenship at any time after 3/5 years from start of her residency.

My best guess is that his wife is resident since 2013 ( 10 year card right?) in that case she can't apply before 2016/2018?

I remember him from AOS. I think his 2013 GC is the 10-yr one, and they had a 2 year GC prior. So they would be eligible to file now (resident since 2011), but no, you don't have to unless you want to. You don't even have to apply for citizenship at all, you can just keep renewing your 10-yr GC

Thank you Messybrownhair. I also remember you from AOS. You are right that my wife received her 10 year greencard in 2013.

As long as your wife has been in the US for at least 3 yrs she can apply for her citizenship anytime just as long as she is a LPR. As long as her GC is valid, renewed, etc..., as long as she has been married and living in the US for at least 3 yrs. Hope this helps.
