So that I could make use of my approved leaves at work on the 27th (Thursday) and the 28th (Friday) of this month I am planning to do my medical examination on those said dates (which is two days from now). I just thought its a good idea since my interview date is now approaching , which is on May 8th. I already checked Hank's website just to make sure I have all the requirements needed. Is there any tips and recommendation that I need to know guys?

Thanks!

Just attend the exam with a positive attitude. Relax as this is the easiest part of the immigration process. There is no need to stress as there is nothing here that you can control. Nothing you can change to insure success.

The exam is used only to determine if you are infected with any type of diseases that are "contagious". They don't care about lumps, bruises or abnormalities. If they see something that is a medical concern but not contagious, they will inform you to see your personal family physician for follow-up diagnosis. These concerns will not prevent you from passing your exam.

Having said that, if you have certain conditions, such as tuberculosis, specified sexually transmitted diseases, or a disease that has the potential to cause an outbreak these will have a baring on the outcome of your St. Lukes physical. If corrected USEM/SLEC will allow you to continue to pursue your visa processing once your cured.

There is a very high rate of success in passing your physical, so relax and again be positive. This is just another step in the process.

Good luck.

BTW, your visa is good for travel during a 6 month window. That window begins with the medical exam and not the visa approval. So if you take your medical in March and you get approved and receive your visa sometime in middle or end of May then you will have to travel by August. If that is not an issue then continue as scheduled.

Thank you Sir for the encouragement and confidence boost!

Your welcome.

Admitting illegal drug use can result in visa denial.

According to the Department of State:

"(iv) who is determined (in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services) to be a drug abuser or addict, is inadmissible."

Some more things to add: They have a huge problem doing the exam during your period. If you are having yours at the time of the exam, they will not complete the exam and make you come back when your period is over to finish it.

There is no food inside the building, either for sale or your outside food you can bring in. So eat a good breakfast. But you are allowed to bring in a bottle of water.

Although the building opens at 6 AM you may want to get there earlier to get a good place on line. 4 AM is not unreasonable. If you do that, since you will be outside for 2 hours you can bring a snack along and eat it there.

The fee is payable in cash and in pesoes only. So make sure you are set for that.

While I have never been in there I hear the people are respectful and polite. I also hear the air conditioning works a little too well for some people so you may want to bring a jacket.

That is about all I can think of. Good luck to you.

I didn't notice where the OP talked of illegal drug issues.... hmmm

You didn't notice that lalabobe asked for tips and recommendations despite the fact that it was in the original post and that I quoted it in big bold letters in my previous post. How did you miss that?

Easy tigers... I think OP got it and was well over and done with her medical last March 27/28th...
