Lucky you. My case got complete on April 22, still no interview date :/

Hi there,

Chances are, you already have an interview date, call NVC and ask them.

In my case, I didn't even get an email notification with regards to our case complete, I just called them.

I also didn't get my interview email yet but I called them and was told I just got my interview scheduled.

It's really handy to know ahead of time, coz we can buy hotel & tickets early which saves us a lot of money.

Good luck!

My children's interview went well today. I don't know all the details but they said that they weren't even asked any questions at all. The CO just reviewed the documents. CO asked for the original copy of the appointment letter but was told that all the kids were provided was a scanned copy so CO said ok thats fine. And the other document the CO asked for was the I-864W. That was it! According to the website visa will be delivered between 7-10 business days. Not sure if that's just a general transit they give to everyone. Could be sooner than if the deliver to address is just in Manila maybe?

It was! I sent everything that NVC asked for, even the 2x2 photos. I dont know why they asked for them again at the Embassy, luckily there weren't any supporting docs to it so it wasn't a hassle scanning a copy to my kids.

Hello everyone,

I have a doubt about my case.

For example, I'm a IR2 beneficiary, and I got approved my I-130 on March 5, In April my dad scheduled an interview with immigration services to inquire about the case, they told them they are in process to send me a letter in 30 - 60 days, which will tell how to continue visa processing in the consulate here in my city, (Guayaquil, Ecuador), the case is now on NVC, I already have the case number.

I know you can pay the IV fee here in the consulate, and when you submit and AOS abroad, the fee is not charged, but the point is I read everywhere that you must pay in NVC, and I'm confused, anybody has been through this?

Did you also request to get the petition expedited through NVC? Because if you didn't, the process will be normal which I think about 3 to 4 months or so, assuming there aren't any problems. Even if USCIS approved your expedite request, you will need to request it again at the NVC level. And I think expedited cases are forwarded to the Embassy and that's where everything is done. When our case was forwarded to NVC, all the fees was done through their website. As per the instruction they provided me, the case will not move forward if fees due aren't paid in a timely manner. Paid $88 for AOS, submitted supporting docs, filled out DS-261 on the web, then paid $230 IV fee, completed DS-260 online, then submitted supporting docs and all these are done through NVC. Once our case was forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila, all my kids had to do was get the medical done, and attend the interview. At the interview, CO just asked for a copy of the affidavit of support and the appointment letter. They weren't asked any questions at all. Edited by uscparent

Yes you're right, that's how the process should flow, but reading the page of the consulate here, it has two links, they say: "If you received your interview letter from NVC", and "If the american consulate sent you the appointment package letter" (It tells you to bring the AoS and pay the IV fee in the consulate) but the question is, in what basis this can be done?

Send them an email (subject line should be the case number). Tell them the situation, attach documents to prove your reason for expedite. Also in the body of the email do not forget to add Beneficiary's name and DOB, petitioner's name and DOB. Once NVC replies to you, they will ask for two telephone numbers for the applicants/beneficiary and will tell you that they are reviewing your expedite request. I guess if you get approved, then you will receive further instructions from them. Goodluck!
