"U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has identified your application as a potential interview waiver case. This means we may not need to interview you to complete your application. However, if later determine that an interview is required, we will schedule an interview appointment and notify you.

As you know, your case is currently pending. If you have previously inquired with us about your case, this letter serves as the response to your inquiry.

Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. Presently, we anticipate that delay to be approximately 6 month from the date of this letter..........."

Got this letter back in August/September. What it is really saying is that due to factors unrelated to your case, we have no idea when your case will be adjudicated. Meanwhile, you can kick back, relax, and enjoy watching others getting their cases approved in 6 months or less with or without interviews. After our 6 months was up, I put in a service request. The response was basically the same as the waiver letter. However, the potential 6 months delay was reset for 6 months from the date of the service request response letter!! It's absolutely and disgustingly absurd.

Me too. At least we can work and travel with the combo card. Good luck!

What's a combo card? I filed AOS for my son under 18yrs. We have a biometric App on Monday 24th. I need to be able to fly him out the country to visit his mom for Summer and hoping that they send me "any" type of card before he leaves. I've requested a work visa and travel document along with the AOS. so I'm hoping the work visa gets sent early so I can file n-600 for him or get him a U.S Passport. He's currently out of status so I can't process him to Citizenship directly. I first need to get GC or any other legal resident document.

How long did you wait until they sent you that letter that the case is delayed?

The "combo card" they were referring to is the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and Advance Parole(AP) travel document that can be filed with an AOS application at no extra charge for certain categories; spouse being one of those categories. It is generally approved in 2-3 months after filing.
