Hello,

Same thing happened to me. My wife is from Dominican republic and received her I-797 but my 9 year old step-daughter was not on it and did not receive one herself. So, im assuming this is normal, i've been seeing different responses to this all over the internet. Hopefully someone can confirm whether this is the norm or not.

Matt

Hello,

Just wanted to follow up. Today I received a I-797 for my daughter in the mail. It was different than my wife's and it said," Verification of inclusion of a dependent in filing of form I-751". It was only a paragraph long and state that she was giving a one year extension and she could travel..blah,blah,blah. So I guess that's how it's done. A I-797 for the Principal(My wife) and then a verification of inclusion I-797 for the dependent.

You have until June 20 for them to receive your ROC. You can file anytime between March 21 and June 20. You have a 90 day window, and can file any time in that window.

Some advice: Don't wait until there's only a couple weeks or few days to file. It will make you a nervous wreck! I know this from personal experience. But do take time to get all of your evidence in order.

I would go ahead and fix the lease problem right now. Just ask them to give you another copy of it. It's prime evidence, and you want to have that. Not saying you couldn't get approved without the earlier lease, just that it's well worth the effort to ask for another copy.

Good luck.

Thank you for you vaulable information. I think i am gonna go ahead and ask the landlord to provide me with another copy of the 2012 lease. She already provided me a copy of the 2013's. I am feeling embarrassed to go ask her again, She may think we are not organized people...lol

I also do not have photos of my wife and i. All of our pictures were on my ipad which recently crashed. Is it a problem not to sending photos?

I understand what you are saying. I had to do the same thing with one year of my lease and also had to ask work to give me copies of my benefits statements for previous years, which I somehow managed to lose. I felt a little embarrassed also, but the importance of this will let you overcome that.

I had lots of pictures, but have been told, that is not primary evidence. I think that lease/mortgage, tax returns, bank accounts, insuance, that's the stuff you really need.

The other concern is i am cuyrrently financing a car for my wife, The title, the financing bank is under her name but the insurance is on my name. SO on whhich of those papers is it more important to show joint ownership? So i can contacrt who i need to contact

Hi everybody! Updates, updates...

Just got my NOA in the mail. It's an extension letter for one year and it says I can work and travel. Curious thing though is that the "Verification of Inclusion of a Dependent" came along too for my two children, so I guess we're in the right track!

Good luck everybody!
