Pls...any advice...My husband in US,american citizen,i am ukrainian,we didnt start our process IR-CR VISA yet....In Ukraine (i am on east site)situation geting worser every day...closer to military conflict...i want to go to my husband.....what to do?????

Your husband needs to file an I-130 petition form to start the process and then request an expedite after said form has been filed.

I just read in the news that the E.U. is planning on allowing Ukrainians to travel to all countries that are a part of the E.U. without visas. I have read there are countries that have lower cost of living then U.S. and a better lifestyle. Look into it, also what about becoming citizens of one of them countries for a chance to move to U.S. easier.

Being a citizen of an EU country will not make it easier for Lena to move to the US. She will still need to go through the process.

Lena- I remember your post a while back that you would have trouble finding a sponsor. However, in order to move to the US your husband must file an I-130 petition first. File a petition and worry about a sponsor when the time comes. Also- request an expedite. I think it's very possible it would get approved, given the situation in Ukraine.

Travel doesn't necessarily mean settle as permanent residents - and even if it did, it probably wouldn't enable her to bring him to the EU. Her being a citizen/permanent resident of another country shouldn't impact the speed of things. I can't imagine they're going to expedite visas from Ukraine unless an actual war breaks out.

Lots of people have taken advantage of the favoritism 'clause' to migrate here painlessly. They tell you they're coming for a visit, then suddenly change their minds, get married to a US citizen all their 'sins' are forgiven. In my view, this is unfair to others from other countries (mostly poor developing countries. Look at Mexico, right next to our southern border have a wall barrier while Canada to our north get to come & go as they please!)

Sorry I digresssed. But I say the uncomfortable truths others don't want to hear.

BP, if the OP moves to a EU country and become a citizen there (granted I don't know how long that process takes), IMO, the OP will have it much easier to immigrate to the US...Why? Because of the VWP & ESTA.

Hmm... As a EU country citizen- I can not travel to the US on VWP/ESTA. Five of the EU countries are not part of the program. Poland included.

It would take years for Lena to get a citizenship in the EU.

I agree though that a lot of people come to the US on VWP and then AOS.

A lot of expedites were granted based on the unrest in Egypt. I think she would have a chance to have her case expedited as well.

Who knows? and it wouldn't hurt to try.

Putin's lunacy is through the roof... who knows what will happen. Sigh.

Thanks for the EU information.

Hmm... As a EU country citizen- I can not travel to the US on VWP/ESTA. Five of the EU countries are not part of the program. Poland included.

It would take years for Lena to get a citizenship in the EU.

I agree though that a lot of people come to the US on VWP and then AOS.

Expedite might me a very viable option. The us has already begun granting asylum to Russian lgbt.

I would also recommened to get the process started to and ask for an expedite. When asking for an expedite choose the reason carefully. The person who your husband is going to contact in the USCIS should help you with it. The wrong reason or the reason which is not strong enough will lead to the denial of an expedite.
