Wrong last name on letter from NVC!

Get it corrected by the responsible federal agency/department.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

I got the same problem.anyway,letter from nvc doesnt really impact your petition as long ur name right on NOA2.its only notification and it sent by outsourcing not the nvc itself.good luck! :)

My name is correct on the NOA2. But doesnt it mean my name in the system is wrong at the embassy? It doesn't seem like having discrepancy in the names is a good thing. They can question that on interview and use that againts us.

i did call the embassy number as well and that was pointless

i did call the embassy number as well and that was pointless

No it doesnt.i had emailed embassy and they said thats fine.just make sure on their electronic application,ds-160 when you fill in.but to make you relief,you can email your consulate and mention about your wrong name.it makes you have proof that you tried to contact them.

If your name is correct on the NOA2 and everything else, then it is probably just a typo on the NVC letter. Your name is correct on the papers in your file and in the system, or the NOA2 would have gotten it wrong as well. So, you can do nothing or call the USCIS and ask to speak to a tier 2 immigration officer just to give yourself peace of mind that your name is correct in their system.
