I just want to be more clear,

I did name cahnge & been out the US for 10 months.

For being out for 10 months, i waited 10 months after my eligibility date to make up my time

I did Name change ( Minor one, just fixing my last name spelling)

Reno office is rocking and rolling ( less than 4 months process )

Did you apply for us citizenship? I though you can not be outside the usa for no more then 6 months. Anyways congratulations. I'm still waiting for my approval . Crossing fingers that it will be an approval

Got an update: On July 7, 2014, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was scheduled for interview.

Not sure whether it's actually been scheduled or my wife is "in line" for an interview. We'll see once we get an actual letter in the mail.

Hi, I just want to point out that waiting for 10 months will only help you if you were short of the 30 month physical presence requirement (or 18 months if you are applying based on 3 years of marriage).

Regardless of whether or not you waited an extra 10 months, you will still have to demonstrate that you did not break continuous residency by being out of the country for more than 6 months at one time.

The physical presence (30 or 18 months) requirement and the continuous residence (5 years or 3 years) are two different requirements. There's really no such thing as making up for a trip outside the US, unless the trip was a the beginning of your 5 year or 3 year period.

For example, if you got your green card in March 2009 and you are eligible to apply in December 2013, but you were out of the country for only one trip from January-August 2012, waiting an extra 10 months to apply doesn't help you in any way.

Perhaps that's what you meant, but I wanted to help clarify.

In-line for oath ceremony as of today!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

wowww.! happy for everyone who got there interview and Oath!....Im a tampa filer, and i have been In-line since May 20. I am checking everyday, but no updates..its already my 4th month....... :crying:

congrats messybrownhair. my dilemma is that i was place in line on 6/27, and I know a oath ceremony will be held on 7/16 however the refuse to schedule me. Very frustrating last step.

Messybrownhair so lucky to have your n400 in its final step. Mine is very frustrating that the decision can not be made . I hope to hear soon from uscis about my case . I am praying to God that my application will be approved
