If you do not possess an immigrant visa the requirements are different. The CFO sticker talked of here is for those immigrating to the USA (or other countries for that matter)

Yes, you NEED to get the CFO sticker. The immigration officers will check it at the point of entry.

Only those immigrating need the CFO sticker.

Immigration at POE does not care about the CFO sticker at all, that is strictly a Philippines requirement

Never heard of Malaysian "social visa" before, is it also a work-related visa / work permit? What was your purpose when you attended the CFO seminar before? The CFO sticker is only required for Filipinos leaving Philippines with an Immigrant visa.

By the way, this forum is for US visas, are you also applying for one?

thanks for the info sweet cakes, i know this forum is for US visas cos i cant find any forum for philippines-malaysian forum so i decided to join this here for some info. i have a husband here and to be able to stay here i have to apply visa but malaysia has a procedure before u have ur PR, so at first they gonna give visit pass ( social visa ) for 6mos. my friend told me that i shud have cfo certificate that time i left in philippines i ddnt have yet my visa cos they allow filipino to stay in malaysia for 1 mo w/o visa after processing all then only i applied my visa here. but as far as i remember u can have cfo sticker if u have a immigrant visa thats y im very confused now i dont want any trouble coming back here.

Thank you for elaborating that. Kind of vague explanation from the CFO officer who conducted the seminar though. I attended with my wife and the CFO speaker discussed that the CFO sticker is very important and will be checked by the immigration officers AT point of entry. Thanks for this info Hank_.

Do you have an immigrant visa to exist the Philippines?  If yes.. then yes.   If no.. then no.

If and when you do need your sticker all that is required is for you to present your CFO certificate.  Being you are only leaving for a visit of 28 days to Malaysia it would seem you don't have an immigrant visa.
