Hi,

I am a new member and need your help. Our case has been approved and moved to Abu Dhabi US Embassy and when I check the Ceac.state.gov website it says "Ready" but I have not recieved an email nor a package for what is next. I have the Case #, Inovice # and Ben ID # recieved from NVC.

My Questions:

1. My case Left NVC (Feb 19) and status chaged to "ready" on Feb 23. When should I expect to recieve a letter or an email from the embassy for interview?

2. Can I call/email them now to obtain an interview date? If there is a website for Abu Dhabi what is the website?

3. The Ceac.gov website allows me to fill out DS-260 but not to pay for Visa yet, Why? and should I wait until I get a letter to fill out the DS-260 form.

I would appreciate your help.

If it says Ready on the CEAC website, that means that they already have your case file at the consulate. Now what you need to do is email (or call) the consulate to make sure they got your process and they will respond to your email giving you further information about it, whether they have scheduled your interview yet, what are the required documents for the interview, etc.

K-1 Timeline:

September 30, 2013 - Sent I-129F package

October 10, 2013 - NOA1

November 8, 2013 - NOA2 (No RFE)

January 6, 2014 - Got my case number by e-mail
January 15, 2014 - Found out when I'm having the interview
February 21, 2014 - K1 interview. Approved! Yay!

Thank you alexandlessa for your respond. So it wouldn't annoy them if I email because on their website it says if you email us for the time and date of interview it will affect your case.

And should I wait to hear from them before I do the DS-260 form?

Thank you for your respond and help and congrats on your case approval.

Well that depends on where. We are in Manila. They acknowledged getting our file on Jan 31(even though NVC sent it on Dec 31), but stil no letter. Most Manila people say it takes 5 weeks to get the letter, so I should not even expect it for another week.

We did grab an interview date as they are filling up fast, but remember each embassy has their own rules, so best to consult the embassy website to see how it is done.

And remember this: Government has two speeds: Slow and stop. Most people in private industry who worked at the speed of government would be fired in about one week. So don't expect any speed remotely approaching normal.
