Miracles can happen! Never underestimate the power of God!

December 15, 2013: Port Alfred, South Africa, the most beautiful, wonderful, adorable man in the world (my fish) asked for my hand in marriage (best day of my life).

December 27, 2013: I had to leave my fiance to head back to the States (hardest day of my life).

January 17, 2014: I-129F was mailed out to the lockbox in Dallas.

January 21, 2014: Receipt date of I-129F (received a text).

January 23, 2014: Receipt of Form I-797C, NOA1, hard copy in mail.

...daily constant emails, daily Skype sessions, daily tears, frustration, anger, helplessness, lack of control, depression, trying to stay positive, daily visit to the USCIS website to check case status despite knowing the average wait time is five months and you cannot speak to anyone that is actually alive unless the five month average has passed, or I could schedule an appointment at my local "field office" which is only a 3.5 hour drive one way (insert sarcasm here), heartache, misery, no appetite, begging/pleading/praying to God daily, more research = more depressed, I found myself walking around like a zombie, no motivation, no spark for life, not complete without my soul mate.

Last week up until yesterday (the period of time the USCIS website was apparently down), our Skype sessions were focused on our individual relationships with God, and questioning "Why would He create us for one another, allow us to meet, only to have to be kept apart because of stupid Governments' red tape/greed/paranoia?" This confused us, we were upset with Him. Only until we accepted, and verbally expressed to each other, that He must be preparing us, testing us, He wants our marriage to be perfect, is when we received our sign yesterday. At 9:30 p.m. last night someone was urging me to turn on my laptop to check the USCIS site. (It is important to note that I never use my computer at this time of night). My head said "why bother to check, you'll only get more depressed like every other time you check", but a force, a strong urge, a strong feeling, out of my control, persisted inside of me so I went ahead and checked quickly. I can't even put into words how I felt when I found out our case went from Initial Review, passed Decision, straight to Post Decision Activity. Despite the fact that one phone call to my fiance in South Africa costs me over $9,000/minute (ha) and it was 5 a.m. there, I called him, told him, and we've been laughing and smiling since. Which brings me to:

February 20, 2013: USCIS website states I129F is approved, hard copy in mail.

My heart sincerely goes out to everyone dealing with the same issues for those of you who have truly found your soul mates or missing your beloved family members. Unfortunately after utilizing this site for a few months now, I have seen a lot of apparent cases of fraud, people wanting divorces, and I'm going to be honest here, this really upsets me because it's those kinds of situations that "clog up the system" hence making it longer/harder on those who truly need this process.

I know we still have a long road ahead.....

You bet it's frustrating and expensive, but the journey has made us stronger not only as individuals but as a couple. John finally arrived in Minnesota on November 6th and I married my soulmate on January 7th and I wouldn't change a thing. God truly has a hand in choosing our mates, and like you we refused to think that God would have crossed our paths to let the red tape and frustration stop his plans. Congrats!!

Ugg, kind of more confused. Postal employees are on strick in South Africa, the approval is valid for only four months, and we are afraid he cannot get everything done in that timeframe. Does anyone know how (telephone, email, snail mail) my fiance would be contacted and how long it takes for him to receive contact?

To my understanding in the I-129F Approval expires before interview, etc. the Embassy/CO just extends it.... You're safe. Don't worry too much... Remember your faith conversation?? It STILL applies.... :yes:

~ Jan ??,2013 ~ Service Center ~ Vermont I-129F Packet sent

NOTE: Actual sent date unknown due to lawyer negligence - I delivered ALLForms and PAID Lawyer on Nov 7, 2012 - Lawyer kept saying he sent the packet and USCIS must have lost it. When in reality he failed to send the package and only a new copy to USCIS after I made a legal written demand giving him 10 days to perform or return ALL monies paid to him, due to "non-performance".

(IMO it's better to save your money for visits to or from your Fiancé and just fill it out yourself using the K-1 Guide on VJ and Senior Members... They Rock!!!)
