Forgot to send form G-1145

I-130 form have been delivered to the office in Chicago. However, I forgot to attached the G-1145 for notification. is it possible to send it out so I can get some sort on notice about my package. or is there anyway of getting a case number so I can keep track of it.thanks

I am not sure if it would be added after the fact . I do know there is an account you can make on the USCIS site . Where you can add email and phone for text and email alerts . You would need the case number which you will have once you have the hard copy of the NA01 . You could try calling on Monday and perhaps they will issue the number to you .

I was able to make an account from the " Check your case status " area of USCIS . However I was not able to log onto that site tonight . I believe there is something wrong with it . I did remember seeing a posting about this on VJ recently . I am sure they will resolve this soon and once you have your number you will be able to log on for alerts in the future .

Don't worry about the G-1145 at this point. It is a voluntary form and all it does is tell USCIS to send you an email/text when they receive your packet; that's it.

Like Tandag1025 says, once you get your hard copy NOA1, you have to go to their website https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do (site currently down) and create an account with your NOA1 receipt number. Once you create an account, you can select to receive emails/texts every time there is an update to your case. People normally receive the hard copy NOA1 in 5-10 business days.

03/18/14 - Received email to pay AOS fee. Invoiced and paid (in process)
03/19/14 - Requested NVC to "join" wife's and daughter's cases
03/20/14 - AOS status "PAID" for wife
03/26/14 - AOS status "PAID" for daughter
03/26/14 - AOS packets sent
03/28/14 - IV available and paid for both wife and daughter (in process)
04/01/14 - IV shows "PAID", DS-260 available
04/05/14 - DS-260 complete and submitted
04/07/14 - Civil docs arrived via DHL from my wife. IV packets sent (Finally!!)
04/14/14 - False checklist for IV packet (wife and daughter)
04/15/14 - Confirmed AOS approved (did not ask for specific approval date) - IV packets in system

04/25/14 - CASE COMPLETE (wife and daughter) :dance:

04/30/14 - Interview scheduled (yay!!)

05/02/14 - Received e-mail with P4 letters

05/07/14 - NVC shipped case files to Lima Embassy via DHL. CEAC status "In transit"

05/09/14 - DHL delivered case files to Embassy. CEAC status "Ready"

The g1145 only works for the initial email or text anyhow. You'll still get the paper noa1 and then you can sign up on the USCIS website for any additional emails/texts.

My package is shown to be delivered on the 19th February, and I'm still waiting to get the notification. Is it normal? How long would the whole process take?

It varies a lot, but the general consensus is that after 30 days without any sort of notice at all, call them and ask them to re-send it. We got ours 6 days after they picked it up from the Chicago Lockbox.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

 

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

 

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.
