Slow your roll, you should have know going into this it would realistically take 5-6 months. Especially from Ghana.

The goal for processing K-1s is 5 months. Keep in mind that "goal" and "guarantee" are two entirely different things. Being from Ghana which is rampant with high fraud, you're looking at longer wait times and much higher scrutiny and delays most likely.

As much as I question the integrity and efficiency of any government system, I don't think the processing can be excused as being completely random. Keep in mind that during the background check they are accessing files that have more information about you than you probably know about yourself. The obvious things like previous involvement with law enforcement, mental health, credit reports, immigration violations, previous petitions, and so on generate a profile that may generate an IBIS hit. That hit puts you into a new category that requires a more senior level of scrutiny. I'm not saying that's what happened to the OP as in the end anything inside five months right now is considered normal processing time and you won't have much luck pressing them until that time passes.

Not completely conviced with your statement here. Looks absolutely random to me. Drop the case on one pile, and a administrative clerk will process any random case on top of any random pile at the moment is what it looks like to me. Many people have been waiting several months for an NOA2 while being model citizens, never traveling to any "questionable" country, working great jobs, university educated and so on. So unless you have some major questionable background, your review should not take any longer but just a few days extra from the moment your file falls on someones desk to approve or sent back.

Any petition that was filed less than five months ago is within the published "normal processing time." The sheer volume of petitions means there will be statistical anomalies that will take longer than five months, but the vast majority are completed in five months or less. Those that take longer than five months have most likely generated an IBIS hit that requires further investigation.

We received our NOA1 on December 5th and haven't heard a thing. I am seeing other TSC filers waiting more than five months and one that waited seven. I am not expecting a quick journey with TSC. They seem to be the slowest service center.

Hi KayG! We filed in October and received our NOA1 11/01 & got our NOA2 24 days later on 11/21 but the NVC just received our petition yesterday, 3 months after receiving our NOA2. They also told me I'm in administrative processing at the NVC which is nothing out the ordinary either. I'm estimating an interview date in May or June. I'd be very surprised to get an interview date any sooner than May.

hi guys am trying to call the customer care line and its says i should enter my receipt number but i can not enter the SCR alphabet on the phone..what other way can i do this...i called the 800-375-5283 ..

I always have the same problem. Pick the option for lost petition and it will take you to a customer service rep. After talking with a customer service rep, you can also try to ask to speak to a tier 2 representative. I was given some confusing misinformation from the customer service representatives regarding my NOA2 which was corrected by the Tier 2 representative. I also received copies of the service request performed by the tier 2 representative so I was satisfied with the response.

You can just enter the numbers corresponding to the alphabets.

S = 7

R = 7

C = 2

I got through the call today by doing this.

After you enter all your numbers it will ask "did you enter 'SRC'".
