confuse when to file citizenship

Hi! i posted a question and unfortunately i posted as a comment but anyways ,my question is when can i file for my citizenship? i was approved to have a green card and resident since March 30, 2011 and my ROC was approved 10 yr greencard till July 30,2023 my husband wants me to file my citizenship so that no hassle in many ways i read here that i can file my citizenship if im here straight 3 years and still living with my husband can i start it now or when thanks

It really doesn't matter when your I-751 was approved.

If the "resident since" date on your green card is March 30, 2011, then you add 3 years to that (= March 29th, 2014). Your eligibility started 90 days before that date, on December 29th, 2013, so you can apply now, provided you meet all the other requirements (such as physical presence and continuous residence).

You can file right now because you are in the 90-day time frame from (the date on your first green card) plus (three years) minus (90days).

oic, yes i will pretty soon . but what if i file after 90 days what will happen do they not grant my citizenship ? just get an idea

No problem with filing after that time frame.

I was just explaining about the soonest you could file.

I think it's pretty much up to you whether you get it or not.

If you're not in any trouble, have followed the rules so far,

1. Do the online worksheet mentioned above to make sure you're eligible.

2. Fill in appropriate forms and send in $$.

3. Study for your civics test and English language test

4. Go to interview, pass above tests

5. Swear your oath

6. Be a citizen

Also, there is no end date for when you can file. A person can be an LPR with a greencard for the rest of their lives, if they want. You can apply anytime after the 3yrs less 90days.

As said above, you can file now, in a year, in 20 years, or never, it doesn't matter. You were obligated to file your I-751, but applying for citizenship is a choice, not an obligation.
