My husband and I have been married for 2 and 1/2 years. I am the USC, 29 year old female. After a year into the marriage, when he received his conditional green card, we started arguing more and he became something of a different person. Since that time, for nearly 2 years, we have been on and off, living together and not - it's been a huge ordeal. Recently, we decided to "try again," shortly before the I-751 needed to be submitted on his behalf. I signed it, even though I had served him the summons for divorce already ... I was still hoping it might work. Conveniently, shortly after it was submitted, he decided that we have wasted our time together and he can no longer work things out. He has since severed all ties and I've been stuck filing for the divorce.

There are several issues than can be revealed in just that one paragraph, but the bottom line is that he no longer wants to be a part of my life, and after 3 years of supposed "true love," he has been able to effectively turn it all off and make the definitive decision to no longer be my spouse. What I don't know is what to do next ... do I report this (I wouldn't even know where to begin with doing that)? Do I let it go and try to move on? What options do I have, since he essentially filed the I-751 and it's pretty much done with?

Any input would be much appreciated. The advice I seek isn't out of anger or a need for revenge ... I guess I would just like to hear from someone who might have been in this situation, or who knows of one, and what the best course of action is. Your suggestions are much appreciated.

The timing seems fraudish, but it could be coincidence. If you have any proof of fraud, then please submit it to USCIS. But after that, there is nothing to do but move on. Good luck and sorry for your circumstance.

Thank you, Harpa. I have proof of the summons and service of the summons for the divorce and that it was before he sent the I-751 ... do you know how to submit to the USCIS, if that is an option I might consider?

But even without that, he can file on his own to remove conditions... Just has to show that the marriage was entered I to in good faith... Yes, the timing is sketchy, but unless you have HARD evidence that it was fraud, not much you can really do. I am so sorry. But be strong and move forward never backwards..

You said he filed for I-751..but did he receive the 10 year green card or just filed for removing of conditions? If so you can let USCIS know you filed for divorce and removing of condition its not based on you anymore..But if he received the card already..yeah i don't think you can do much about it..Im sorry :(
