Hi,

I sent my application for Advance Parole (Form I-131) on January 6th. They told me that 30 days after they received it, that I should be getting in the mail a response and/or appointment for my biometrics. I called USCIS today and they sent a service request at the Vermont Service Center.

My current status is Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), so I have Employment Authorization and SSN.

Since I'm DACA, while filing the AP I had to send a letter with the reasons for my travel. There are 3 options: humanitarian, education or work. My reason was humanitarian to visit my sick grandmother. While filing the application, I only paid $360, I didn't have to pay any biometrics fees.

After sending the application, I realized that I forgot my 2 passport pictures. I called USCIS to expedite my case. The expedite request was denied. I called again and a customer representative said that I should wait until the 30 days to receive my biometrics appointment and get my picture taken there. I don't know since I didn't pay for a biometrics fee if I'll be getting an appointment for biometrics.

A month has passed already. I called again today and the customer representative sent a service request. They said that I should wait by February 25th and that I should receive a letter from Vermont Service Center explaining why I haven't received my appointment.

I have to travel on March 12th-19th since this is the only time period where I'm allowed to travel due to my job.

I'm wondering if any of you could please help me with a way to speed up the process?

Should I go to an USCIS local office?
Send my 2 pictures to the Vermont Service Center?

Any information helps.

THANKS!

Call USCIS, get to a human and then ask to talk to a Tier 2 Immigration Officer about your case, it usually takes some convincing though as the call center will always try to handle your inquiry.

Will do. I'll call again tomorrow.

Thanks!
