Hi everyone,

I have 2 questions, my wife is the beneficiary, I have one daughter(2yrs) but I file tax single and can not include my wife and daughter since they are not immigrated yet, they also don't have social security number. Only my daughter is a US citizen, but she is living with my wife as my wife is waiting in the process.so the part 5 of i864 is very confusing, please help me to fill out the form so that I don't count them twice! do I need to mention my daughter in part 5 of i864?

Hi,

The visa officer asked for a new joint sponsor on Jan21st 2014 ! In a visa interview for my wife , Now,

1.which years tax return to send as for the New joint sponsor? 2013 Or 2012 ?

2. Or the 2012 tax return will work as this was the case of 2013?

3. Do I need to fill up i864 again since I will have a new joint sponsor now (my previous joint didn't qualify) ?

4. do I send my new tax return of 2013 as well?

We have a daughter, I reported us citizen birth abroad and successfully got her citizenship while she has been in foreign country with her mother.

How much income do I have to show to sponsor my wife? do I sponsor my daughter?

now, do my daughter gets counted even though she is a Us citizen living with her mother?

You, your wife and daughter ~ household size of 3. So you need at least $24,412 of income (125% above poverty guidelines).

Hi,
Hope all is well, I am in a very complex situation but I know for you it is a piece of cake , as I have discussed with you my wife got a blue paper at the visa interview on Jan 21st,2014 saying that "need a new joint sponsor". After reading in this forum, I found that I have counted my wife twice in the affidavit of support form i864 in part 5 !

I do not have any new joint sponsor now, but last year (2013), I have earned enough , like 26K . I am thinking to be the sponsor myself only.

26000=2013

10064=2012

6050=2011

plus personal savings in Bank 11K.

Now , last year I have earned enough and I want to sponsor my wife by myself , is only last year's income enough to sponsor my wife without any joint sponsor ? The embassy told my wife to submit the sponsor's document at any day in the embassy ,shall I submit only my tax documents and the "corrected household" (previously I counted my wife twice) form i864 as now only I want to be the only sponsor with my last years 25k income?

Please help me and advise me on this. I am lost

Nad

- How many in your household overall? Ie do you have any kids other than the one daughter, or dependent parents etc?

- Do you still have the job that made you $26'000 last year, and can you prove you will make the same or more this year (ie current paystubs, letter from employer)?

How can I include my daughter in tax file this year, she is a US citizen living foreign country with no SS number?

If she is a US citizen then you need to look in to getting a SSN for her. Does she have a US passport?

Household is 3 , me, my wife and our daughter. My wife and daughter live in foreign country waiting to get visa. I do not claim anyone as dependent on taxes. not even my daughter since she is abroad without SSN. No dependent at all in US. I still have that job and I have direct deposits. I can prove a stable income is coming.

During the day of visa interview (Jan21,2014), my wife got a blue paper saying “new joint sponsor”. Last year (2013), I was employed fulltime and I have earned above (above 125%) the poverty level . Now , I can see that I am qualified to sponsor my wife just by my self .

can I sponsor my wife based on last year’s (2013) income ?
