Congrats to those being scheduled for interviews and oath ceremonies! :thumbs:

I thought I'd give an update for whoever will be obtaining their passport in LA. So, I actually called the National Passport Line today and spoke to a representative who confirmed the following for me:

The LA Passport Agency DOES require proof of travel within 2 weeks (or the need for a visa within 4 weeks) and they do not offer appointments if your trip is more than 2 weeks away. This is very much down to the individual passport agency - some are more lenient and don't care/check, while others require proof of travel, and LA is one of them. So at this point (traveling in late September) I'm not even eligible for an appointment with them. However, in case you do need an appointment because you're traveling within 2 weeks, it seems like it's easy to get one. After I spoke with the representative I hung up and tried calling again, this time following the menu options that took me to the automated appointment system. I entered the date after my oath ceremony (8/28) and the system immediately offered an appointment for 7:30am that day. The only reason I didn't take it was because the automated voice repeated 2-3 times that proof of travel within 2 weeks was required in that Agency, so I didn't want to risk booking the appointment, driving all the way down there and getting turned away.

The rep over the phone advised me to actually apply at the Post Office acceptance facility since I had a few weeks ahead for my trip. I haven't yet 100% made up my mind, but I am leaning towards actually doing the Post Office walk-in application the day after my oath ceremony and paying the $60 for expedited service. I know from friends and relatives that actual passport turnaround tends to be faster than what they promise on the website (my husband got his in exactly 3 weeks with standard service, and a friend of mine who paid for expedited plus overnight delivery got hers in just a week door to door!!), so I should be fine. Barring any mishaps with the Post Office and as long as they don't lose any of my documents, that is :rolleyes: . Even if it takes the whole 3 weeks door to door (which is what the website promises for expedited service), I should still have the passport about 10 days before my trip.

Hi, congratulations for you guys who have good news and hope soon for you all who waiting for the news.

I’d like to update my time line for my Oath Ceremony.

It was Friday 1 August 2014 at Lloyd D George U.S. Federal Court and I applied for passport right away.

U.S. Post office has table for this service outside the room. They have photo booth if you don’t have passport photo with you and they accept cash and personal check.

I filled application from home and took passport photo with me and signed in front of officer.

I signed on my Certificate of Naturalization same as on photo of mine (both places are matching) and gave it to them with driver license, they made copies for me.

I paid for expedited service.

I received passport book on 12 Aug 2014 and received my Certificate on 15 Aug 2014.

Passport Timeline expedited service.

08/01/14 Applied.

08/12/14 Received Passport.

08/15/14 Received Certificate.

Hi, congratulations for you guys who have good news and hope soon for you all who waiting for the news.

I’d like to update my time line for my Oath Ceremony.

It was Friday 1 August 2014 at Lloyd D George U.S. Federal Court and I applied for passport right away.

U.S. Post office has table for this service outside the room. They have photo booth if you don’t have passport photo with you and they accept cash and personal check.

I filled application from home and took passport photo with me and signed in front of officer.

I signed on my Certificate of Naturalization same as on photo of mine (both places are matching) and gave it to them with driver license, they made copies for me.

I paid for expedited service.

I received passport book on 12 Aug 2014 and received my Certificate on 15 Aug 2014.

Passport Timeline expedited service.

08/01/14 Applied.

08/12/14 Received Passport.

08/15/14 Received Certificate.

Congratulations!!!

Status update:

N-445 received. Oath Ceremony scheduled Sept 11 (911 wow) 2014, at U.S. District Court, Hattiesburg, MS. (Court Room #2, 8:30 A.M.). Almost finished!!

Oath letter for the boys came in today! Sept 19th 9am At Little Rock AR Court House. We don't have to travel to Memphis Tennissee :dance:

I thought I'd give an update for whoever will be obtaining their passport in LA. So, I actually called the National Passport Line today and spoke to a representative who confirmed the following for me:

The LA Passport Agency DOES require proof of travel within 2 weeks (or the need for a visa within 4 weeks) and they do not offer appointments if your trip is more than 2 weeks away. This is very much down to the individual passport agency - some are more lenient and don't care/check, while others require proof of travel, and LA is one of them. So at this point (traveling in late September) I'm not even eligible for an appointment with them. However, in case you do need an appointment because you're traveling within 2 weeks, it seems like it's easy to get one. After I spoke with the representative I hung up and tried calling again, this time following the menu options that took me to the automated appointment system. I entered the date after my oath ceremony (8/28) and the system immediately offered an appointment for 7:30am that day. The only reason I didn't take it was because the automated voice repeated 2-3 times that proof of travel within 2 weeks was required in that Agency, so I didn't want to risk booking the appointment, driving all the way down there and getting turned away.

The rep over the phone advised me to actually apply at the Post Office acceptance facility since I had a few weeks ahead for my trip. I haven't yet 100% made up my mind, but I am leaning towards actually doing the Post Office walk-in application the day after my oath ceremony and paying the $60 for expedited service. I know from friends and relatives that actual passport turnaround tends to be faster than what they promise on the website (my husband got his in exactly 3 weeks with standard service, and a friend of mine who paid for expedited plus overnight delivery got hers in just a week door to door!!), so I should be fine. Barring any mishaps with the Post Office and as long as they don't lose any of my documents, that is :rolleyes: . Even if it takes the whole 3 weeks door to door (which is what the website promises for expedited service), I should still have the passport about 10 days before my trip.

My wife called and they refused to direct her to Tier 2 operator. They told her by sept. 6 she should hear something.

I didn't ask for a tier 2 because the tier 1 operator gave me so much information. Within a week, I was updated. Today, I got my interview letter for Sept. 24th
