I thought it was weird to put it in the back of the check so i put my husband's A# as the memo in the front. Don't worry! like you say they always cash our checks!!! lol

which btw they cashed today!

Forgot to mention: I had everything ready to mail on Tuesday, but noticed when double-checking the lockbox mailing address that USCIS posted a new version of Form N-400 literally that same day, on Tuesday 2/4. Anyway, I filled out the new version because I'm hoping the new barcodes at the bottom for "efficiency in processing" mean they'll get processed faster! wink.png

What the ----!? Why is it that they change the form the same day I mail the old one? Oh, right because that's the kind of luck I have. Sigh. >:/

Hi Honey n Walid - The total is actually $680 ($595 N-400 filing fee + $85 biometrics fee). The directions on the USCIS website say to send one check payable to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security", and to write your A-number on the back. I've never written anything on the back of a check before, so I wrote my A-number on the memo line on the front of the check along with "N-400 application fee".

Hi! Finally mailed in my N-400 tonight, after being eligible since 12/1/2010 based on 5 years as a Permanent Resident. It took a while, but I finally sent it in. My receipt from USPS (Priority Mail) says it should get to Dallas on Monday. Here we go... good luck, everyone!

I used the old form as well...it's good until May 5, and it'll not affect the processing time. BTW mine was delivered yesterday.

My package was supposed to be delivered yesterday. I have checked usps.com and it has not been updated since Feb 9. I tried to call but it is impossible to be connected to a human being and the automated system tells me the same as the website. I sent it certified so I have the tracking number etc. I know the weather has been bad in the Dallas area but not that bad that it should be impacting the postal service. Grrr.... ranting33va.gif
