I don't understand why do you have to wait for your petition to get to embassy? All you need is the interview letter?

Have you called NVC to ask if your petition left? I would do the medical now.

They don't give you the results in the UK, they're forwarded to the embassy, and the people at the medical office said they can't send the results there because it can get lost without our file present. I even asked if they could delay sending the results and she said no. Maybe we should just do the medical and if it gets lost they could send the results again?

I did call the NVC today, petition hasn't left. She said they "never" send the documents too late for the interview, but I am not really convinced. I do realize they have had bad weather but then that should have been taken into consideration when scheduling the interview. I am grateful we got an interview date so quickly but these mitigating factors can be stressful.

Yes in the UK, all medical results are forward to embassy and not given to individual. And has to be there for interview or no interview will be granted.

The SS card is a hit and miss. Usually after he arrives the SS card comes in 3 to 6 weeks. Many have reported at about 3 weeks if you don't get it just go to the SS office and order it. (seems to be alot lose in the wind).

Don;t forget to pay the Visa processing fee on Elis $165. also.

Where do we pay the $165, dwheels? I don't know about Elis.

When he picks up Visa there will be instructions on paying the fee. You will need Visa # when you pay. Here is the site you go register.

Now you have a year to pay (you would use stamp in passport as you temp green card if you went this route). But its advised since many companies like to see real green card to get job. So many pay before they POE.

Thank you Dwheels! We think his visa is waiting for pickup at the post office. He will get it tomorrow. He had a notice when he got home from work tonight that it's waiting. He's not expecting anything else, so we are assuming this. Cross your fingers for us...it will be tomorrow.

He's going to make his POE to come for Easter. Excited! But, the move won't happen til May at this point. He has to give a decent amount of notice to his employer and can't make his announcement til end of March or he'll lose a big bonus. It is what it is....but, at least he can make POE. I'm assuming coming/going on his visa that's stamped in the passport won't be an issue, right?

Just an update from last week...

My husband resent the joint sponsor docs back to the consulate after they failed to identify them in the big stack of papers. After I sent them an email last they were very apologetic in their response and said they would process it as soon as it's received. I sent another email two days ago letting them know the package was delivered. Today they actually CALLED my husband (it's a miracle anyone from immigration would actually call him) and said it hadn't arrived yet bc it's probably going through security...which can take a week. More delay. But the woman was accusing my husband that it's his fault bc he didn't double check. He argued that we paid them a lot of money to process this paperwork and it was their responsibility. Nonetheless she refused to accept responsibility on behalf of the consulate for delaying his visa, and said well there are other people in front of you so you will have to wait once we receive it. Oh and they said not to email them again until at least Monday. I can't even begin to tell you how frustrated and helpless we feel right now. We could have his visa in hand by now and they are making us wait even longer for something that is their fault!

12/30/2012 Got married!

02/01/2013 Sent I-130 via Priority Mail USPS

02/05/2013 NOA1 Priority Date

04/09/2013 Called USCIS-informed by Tier 2 officer that my case was transferred to Washington D.C. on March 13

09/05/2013 NOA2

09/27/2013 NVC received case

Submitted DS-261

Paid AOS bill

10/16/2013 Paid IV bill

10/19/2013 Submitted DS-260
10/21/2013 Mailed AOS and IV packages overnight

11/15/2013 IV package accepted/Checklist for AOS

11/26/2013 New AOS documents received at NVC

12/19/2013 Case Complete

12/27/2013-Received Interview letter

01/26/2014-Husband's Medical Exam

02/13/2014-Interview- Approved, but the consular officer did not see I-864 joint sponsor documents, and sent my husband home with the packet of all the original documents, and told him to mail it in when he gets it. My husband realized that the "missing" documents had been there all along. Husband immediately mailed it back.

02/26/2014-Consular office received "missing" documents and gave it to CO for review

03/17/2014-Visa Issued!

03/20/2014- Received Visa

Sure everyone has, its very normal. There is no guarantee a interview scheduled after case Complete.

Once you get case complete you are in the queue for your embassy. The scheduling for the next go around of interviews (April) should start next week. Since January 2013 they started the last week of the month for the next months interviews.March was complete 1st week of this month they started about January 26th.

Your embassy sends the NVC slots to fill, according to your case complete they start filling them until they either run out of slots or petitions.

Your embassy usually is a 1 to 3 month wait after case complete.

When was your case complete i will add you to the list?
