Recommended Hotels for night before London interview

For my fiancee's upcoming interview (no date yet, will probably be in March), her mother is going to go with her to the interview to help nerves wise while waiting and wait for her at a coffee shop nearby during interview.

However, because they'll be traveling from Leigh on Sea, I'd prefer to treat them to a hotel the night before near the embassy.

Could someone redirect me to either an older forum thread of recommended hotels and information, or could someone provide their own recommendations as to which hotel they'd suggest for them to stay the night before?

Depends on how much you want to spend theres lots of good hotels near the embassy but some are very expensive.

Preferably under 120 pounds a night, but again, her comfort is more important to me than my pocket book.

its a bit more but you can usually get deals on it off season on expedia or hotels.com i've stayed in the holiday inn a few times its maybe 12-15 mins from the embassy those are the only two in that area i've stayed in that aren't a lot more expensive.

I stayed at The Days Inn in Sussex Gardens(lots of hotels on that road) last night, £49inc breakfast,Ive stayed in lots of hotels in central London and it was great! VERY clean, 20 minute gentle stroll to the Embassy. I wouldnt think twice about staying there again and believe me, Im a hotel snob!

We stayed at Lincoln House...walking distance from embassy. Small boutique type place. There are some hotels marked on the map I made and posted in the K1 London guide. If you want to find details or threads use Advanced Search (top right). Search Hotel and the UK forum from the drop down choice.

Southend! It is just a quick trip into London.

I used to commute daily twice that distance.

Yeah Southend isn't that much of a travel. Her dad does it every day for work to London. But on such a stressful day for her (no matter how much I tell her she'll be fine...ha ha) I think booking her a room would be a welcomed treat.

We stayed at the Travelodge Waterloo, walked around the corner for a 5-10 minute walk, jumped onto the Lambeth North tube to Bond St, and walked to the Embassy which isn't far away. It's a decent enough hotel, not the most amazing in London but nice and affordable. If they planned to do anything else in London, it is also a short walk from the Thames and London Eye.

I stayed at the New Linden Hotel, which is close to Queensway station, 3 stops on the Central line to Bond St and cost me £53. Admittedly I was on a tighter budget though.

I stayed at the Union Jack Club by Waterloo last time I went to the embassy.

Just a little tube ride up to Oxford Street area.

That is where we stayed back in 2010. It was nice and we got a deal online. The prices for food there were just silly though so we ate at pubs and cafes. Nice area and it was nice to be able to just leave our stuff in our room and not have to worry about driving or taking public transport in the morning.
