Really confused now..please help

On January 14th 2014 I received this from the Department of State:

"The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiance(e)'s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in KYIV. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will now contact your fiance(e) when they are ready to process his or her petition.

In the meantime please have your fiance(e) and his or her children visit ceac.state.gov and complete form D-160 to apply for a K-1 visa."

So my fiancee completed the form DS-160 and so far she has not been called back, however today on Jan 15 I went into the Department of State and typed my Case # for the Visa and this is what came up..

"

Case Creation Date: 09-Jan-2014 Status Updated Date: 21-Jan-2014

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html"

So it says it is ready but no call no medical appoinments etc..are we supposed to do this on our own or just wait??

Try and schedule your interview. I believe that's how it works next. Then, they will send you a letter. You need that letter to schedule your medical. Once you have the letter from scheduling your interview, you can contact the doctor. Also bring that letter to the medical (and to the interview).

Don't worry about the expiration date the embassy extends it.

don´t panic. all is fine. if she filed DS-160 and paid visa fee and made her medical exam, i recommend to schedule interview. Small observation of mine: i recommend first do medical exam and after do interview appointment, escpecially if she is not from kiev. the day i was doing my medical HALF of people had problems with lungs (sings of TB)....so they were asked for additional tests....that means interview in consulate is already under "?" cos of results.

Medical appointment she has do organize herself, noone calls u from the consulate.

Hey thanks alot I feel even better now. however what about DS-260? I dont have my ID # for it And did u guys translate any documents I know it says in the consulate you dont have to but just wanted to make sure

DS-260 is not needed. Only DS-160. As for ID number what number you mean?

All you need is:

1. NOA2 - approval USCIS.

2. Case number from NVC - KEV number. (they send by mail and tell it over the phone)

3. NVC ships ur case to Kiev Consulate. (Consulate sends you letter via mail - i got mine in a week, but i am in Kiev...some guys from regions said they or never had letter or got it in a few months.)

4. Having NVC case number u can send e-mail to Consulate in Kiev and ask if they got case. (but .u also see if they got case on caec.state web, when it says ready to schedule interview).

5. If you have NVC letter with KEV scan it and email it to ur GF so she can make her medical exam in Kiev.

6. File DS-160.

7. Than you pay visa fee. and having receipt u schedule interview on ustraveldocs.

8. For the interview you will need: DS-160 confirmation page, Interview appointmend page from ustraveldocs, Police certificate, Medical exam (white envelope), Affidavit of Support with pay-stubs, or W-2s or other docs that prove you make over poverty line, Proof of ongoing relationship (skype, facebook, photos, letters, tickets, post cards etc..), I will add re-affirmed Intent to get married (from my and his side), also i've seen they ask for approval letters from USCIS and NVC (so i bring them just in case), 2 photos. ----- i guess that's it....but you still check. Personally I translate docs by myself as far as i am translator. But Consulate does not need translation or legalization of docs that are supposed to be presented during interview and are in Ukrainian, English or Russian.

I have translation of:

1. All my diplomas - with apostille. - cos i am going to use them in US.

2. My Birth Certificate - cos I need it for AOS later.

In case if ur GF is not fluent or is not sure how to translate correctly docs she can make translation of those in any translation agency in Ukraine, cos i bet in US it will cost more, especially if docs are arranged in Ukrainian language.

The rest of translations i will do upon necessity.

When ur NOA2 expires?

If you need to extend it's validity you simply e-mail to the Consular department indicating ur KEV number and giving Beneficiary's name, Petitioner's name, USCIS receipt number, and in letter state you ask them to extend ur petition validity for......xxxxx period.

They e-mail you back saying OK.

It's in case if you will need to extand it. This is how it works in Ukraine.

Schedule an interview. Ask what needs to be brought to the interview. I myself (the petitioner) received an email on everything that needs to be done like medical, and conformation. Be sure to check in your SPAM or JUNK emails because that is where I found mine. Good thing I checked because I almost deleted it
