Hi everyone,

I am a little confused with the I-134. You see, my father is going to co-sponsor my fiancé because I am a student and I do not work. I know for certain that I must fill out a form, but does that mean I also have to include my W-2 and tax returns from my old job? I stopped working in 2012.

Also, my father told me he submitted an affidavit of support for someone 20 years ago but is not 100% sure of her name. His memory is awful... Is there anyway I can look that sort of information up?

Thanks!

Daniella

Yes you submit what you have. Having no current income, as you will report on the 134, "proves" that you need the cosponsor.

I can't answer the other question but I don't think it is an issue since it's so old.

Is a tax return transcript printed off the IRS website sufficient?

I really appreciate all the help smile.png

They are not printed off the site. You request a free tax return transcript from the IRS and they will mail it to you. You can also get one by going to your local IRS office in person. They are quite sufficient. http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Order-a-Transcript

i think the tax transcripts can be downloaded off the IRS website now: http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

Thanks for the info Kit! That is great to not have to wait for them to come in the mail. Wow, they just redesigned the site within the last couple days. I shall update my link, though it still worked when I posted that. New URL bookmarked. smile.png

Yes, they are free. Also, what the IRS mails you or gives you in person is also just a copy/printout. Seems much easier to be able to print them out yourself now, especially if you do not want/can't wait for them to be mailed.
