Hello VJ,

I have a question for anyone who can be of assistance. I have a relative that is married and is trying to bring her husband here from Jamaica. He recently went to the embassy for his interview and they advised that they would need more documentation supporting their communication. He didn't have any phone records for his phone or his wife's phone.

I spoke with her and she advised me that because she has a pay as you go phone she doesn't have any phone records. When she called Metro PCs they advised her that they would need a court order in order to release the phone records to her. Is there any way to meet the requirements with other evidence, i.e. provide written statements, bank statements, etc. ??

Thank you all in advance.

Other proof of bonafide marriage you can provide are:

- Skype/Oovoo/Facetime video call logs

- emails

- chat messages/instant messaging (LINE, Viber, WhatsApp, YM, GoogleTalk, BBM etc...)

- Facebook chats

- pictures taken at different times/locations with different people/relatives/friends

- wedding photos

don't no what type of phone you have with metro pcs but I had a L,G phone with them , I had like 3000 text in the phone between me and fiancée, and over 700 hundred calls and could not get a bill from metro pcs, so I went to app store on the phone, and down loaded SMS BACKUP, and open up email address, and was able to back up and send all the texting and phone calls to the email address and from their I was able to print them out,

What about requesting phone records from digicel or lime in Jamaica? Not sure if they tried that already...

yes you are right , they can request it from digicel, because my phone only went so far back, and we requested phone calls and text from digicel and were able to receive them

I am preparing for the initial petition and had the same problem with trying to obtain my phone records. I have Virgin Mobile and am also on a pay as you go account. I was able to get a hold of their legal department and spoke to them about trying to obtain my records. Although phone calls will not be released without a subpoena I was able to get a record of all my text messages by filling out a form and having it notarized. If you can get a hold of the legal department of your phone company, perhaps you can do the same.

Best of luck!

Thank you all for the help!!! They had their interview last week and they were approved!!!

They're an older couple so I believe they showed them some leniency with the phone records and they had a rack of other evidence. Thanks again!
