Does family history matter in K-1 process?

Okay so my fiance from England comes from a family where a lot of them have mental illness; but HE DOES NOT have any mental illness or disorders at all. His health records are clean. Will this cause trouble for him in the immigration process because of his family history of mental illness?

I just wasn't sure if they do background checks into his family history. Or if they will ask.

Your fiance is one lucky guy to have someone worry so much about every little thing.

This journey is stressful and I also had a lot of things I panicked about. Once you come through the other side, you will wonder what all the anxiety was about.

I don't know what his family's medical history would matter. He's emigrating, not them.

Also, we've established that you fiancé has some undiagnosed previous medical issues (his self-harm) - I'd focus on making sure that gets the clean bill, rather than worrying about his parents/family. They don't do background checks. They can't even access HIS medical history (hence the medical), let alone that of someone who isn't even applying for a visa. The UK actually has data protection laws.
