Everyone that goes on this journey feels as you do. You can choose to worry your way thru everyday or even reduce it to worrying minute by minute. You can worry about why you worry so you can double up on the worrying. However in the end that effort has zero impact on the process. Some people simply give up. Can you imagine that?

At this point you have begun to determine all is lost and you will have to start over again. That's about the worst thing you can think of I suppose. That's simply the normal human reaction to the misunderstood coupled with a lack of the ability to access current information. That void is filled with the best we can come up with which is seldom helpful.

There are about 2.5 million cases with USCIS. All of those go to NVC at some point. Yours is just one.

Your NOA 2 tells you the case is finished at USCIS. That does not mean its sent the same day to NVC. These cases are put into groups then sent to NVC.

Both agencies just went thru the Xmas and New year holidays. That caused a delay. The weather you mention is some of the worst in many years which has caused delays.

NVC that you are so worried about will process your case very quickly and forward to BKK.

Your case isn't lost. Its probably at NVC now. If you call them take time to tell them how disappointed you are in how long they take. Keep in mind the people you talk to are employed full time to talk to you. That's all they do.

Why not spend your time on something productive. Are you ready for life in the USA? What do you really need to do once you are here? How will you do those things? English? School? Work? Driving? Navigating? Temples? Food? There are many things to get ready for. What do you know about the culture of America? Its an amazing country that is very different than where we come from. Learn about it now. The history of this country is fascinating.

Don't waste your time on something you can affect. Spend it preparing for what is now the unknown.

Sorry for the long wait. NVC would usually inform you that it takes up to 8 weeks. Have you tried contacting DoS? They are quick to respond and little to no call waiting time. Hope you hear some great news soon.

Something seems to be going on with NVC. The NVC processing times have spiked dramatically in the last couple months for IR-1/CR-1 visas, as well as the time it takes for NOA2 to NVC receive times.

For the NVC:

Checking on your embassy case number: As of late its taking upwards of 8 weeks for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then for NVC to get your file in their system and get the MNL # from USEM. Call after 4:45 PM eastern time for shorter wait times K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator.

To get there: 1-603-334-0700 Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

Press 1 for English

Press 5 for an operator

NVC CONTACT INFORMATION:

Website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html

E-mail: NVCInquiry@state.gov The email request for your MNL # is also a great way to track when your file is forwarded to USEM as NVC will not reply to the email until that time. ;-)

If your petition is delayed or "lost" between USICS shipping it to NVC use this email: nvcresearch@state.gov

REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:

You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:

* NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).

* Petitioner's name and date of birth.

( NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based, include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth. )

* Principal Applicant's name and date of birth. (Beneficiary)

--- Use this site to check When your file ships from NVC to USEM: State Dept. visa tracking: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

That is exactly what is going to happen. As long as you know that there is nor reason to overthink this. Take it easy on yourself and let this happen as it will.
