Hi all

Welcome to February.....yay....time is a-moving! lol

Thanks for the info AlphaMale, really glad to hear it worked out for you. Roll on EAD!

Hey topoftherock, great news on your biometrics. I am waiting eagerly here for my RFE so I know what I missed and have to get into them, hopefully it will help you and others too. I am watching for the post person like a bored junk yard dog...lol

Hi Wurstbrot_Royal......nope, you are not the only one...lol

All the best syncme!

Hiya Nurseling...I hope you are feeling a bit better this week? I reckon you will get a message soon to say all is systems go. It is so terribly hard all this waiting, especially at the beginning. I really hope you hear something asap...fingers crossed, as well as arms, toes and eyes...:)

Last week was a bit nuts for me, so I have decided that I need to keep myself super busy, so I have made an impossible to-do list that I must achieve this week and as a consequence, I promoted myself to 'General Manager of Home Operations' to ensure that keep on my own case....ha ha

I also joined a gym on Friday and have started studying for my driver's permit. I ordered a Roku and I am going to install that (to see if we can reduce our cable bill). I am also going to look for a car to buy. If this doesn't keep me out of trouble, I don't know what will...lol

Postie Postie don't be slow, go like Elvis, go man go and bring me my RFE....ha ha

Have a great week all.

Hey CJC

Finally got the midnight text lol must be standard to text message at midnight. Anyway got a receipt number and all the waiting finally begins. So I guess the wig shop won't be seeing me today lol.

I am in the same position as you with the driving. I am reading for the computer test I plan to go sit it not this weekend the next one. Then go for the practical since I don't already hold a licence in the UK. The good thing is I hear the practical is easy to pass so will see. I am also looking for a car to buy as well with my no credit self lol. Just trying to establish credit now. So hopefully by the time I get driving I will have found my dream Jeep or Rav 4 lol.

Boy do I miss London transport now. Never thought I would say that.

Georgia's transport system is terrible so it's a must to drive. Also looking for daycares as well for when I start working. The really good ones seem to cost a arm a leg and a organ lol. Might as well get use to living permanently with only one kidney for the next few years.

On the upside am alive lol

Hey Nurseling...woot woot, kicking.gif fantastic news, especially now there is no need to head to the wig shop...lol

Great news regarding getting a license, good luck to the both of us I say! I drove in Australia so I still have my license but thanks to the Geneva Convention (huzzah) I am able to skip the written test and just do the computer and driving test. I have to make sure that I know my left and right though because I am used to driving in the opposite direction...yikes!

Ooh a Jeep or Rav 4, very good choices for your 'no credit self'...funny...lol. I have to agree with you on the public transport side of things, there is none whatsoever where I live therefore, no car = no going anywhere beyond walking distance....lucky I like to walk...lol

Big groan on establishing credit, it really is a new game of chess isn't it? We'll get there in the end I am sure :)

Oh dear on the daycares costing so much? Eeek! I don't have any kids (no plan to) so I can only imagine this would be an additional worry when looking for a job. Gosh, don't go the kidney road just yet....maybe I could do some baking for the trade to help you out...lol

Update on my RFE: The mail arrived and with it came my RFE..yay. It was for not providing proof of citizenship (birth certificate) for my husband who is my only sponsor oops8rh.gif and nothing else.

I whizzed down to USPS and sent the copy as requested to the PO box in MO. They won't get it until Thursday but at least they will have it by the time I get my bio done, so hopefully I won't be delayed too much.

Yaay..Nurseling, it's good you finally got the NOAs. I'm quite surprised at why the emails and texts seem to mostly come at night and even sometimes on the weekends lol. These USCIS guys either have an automated system doing this at odd hours for them or they must be working round the clock lol. Whichever way they use, as long as we get our EADs and green cards in time, the better lol. I personally joined a gym on Saturday too and have started a few things out here to keep me busy also.

CJC..good to know that the RFE was for something minor and you dealt with it instantly. I don't think it will have any significant delays on your application since you handled it really quick. It also gives us a good indication that they are indeed working on our applications. So far I haven't received any case updates after the very first update on 01/22/2014. I don't know if it's a good thing or not lol..but I'm keeping watch ;-).

Good day to everyone and God bless us all!

Happy to hear your rfe arrived quickly and you already sent a reply. Birth certificate huh. Thank god I remembered to include my husbands one. Knowing them it's going to be something else they ask for. I will keep fingers cross for no rfe.

I am giving my inbox a break and I have now decided to stalk the mail man for my noa1. Poor mail man!

hi cjc. Did they only ask for one thing? They only thing I forgot to include from my joint sponsor was her proof of status. They sent an rfe for tax returns and w2 (I sent transcripts)and proof of status. My problem is that my joint sponsor passport is expired so I have to wait :( I guess I won't be getting biometrics till after I send in the requested doc. I'm trying not to dwell on the negative

Hey everyone.

Ok so I went to the USCIS office today for my biometrics (originally scheduled for February 11..but that day wouldn't have been convenient for me because of my schedule) and guess what, they didn't even ask any questions. They just made me fill out the forms, took my ten fingerprints and a photo and within 10 minutes I was out. But I'm guessing they probably didn't care because it is a new office (has been around for around a year) and they have very few people coming in. When I got there for instance, there were just about 5 people in and that was all. Oh and I asked the lady if early biometrics helps in anything and she replied in the affirmative. She said since it enables them to do the FBI checks faster (which according to her is one of the stages where much time is spent because it takes about 2-4 weeks for them to get the results) and after that they issue the EAD. So I guess if anyone can do it early and your ASC is flexible and less busy like the Portland office, I guess you should go right in and get it done if you can.

Oh and she was really nice and was willing to answer a lot of my questions..perhaps because she was bored from not having a lot to do lol..or because she was just simply nice. So for now, I guess, I'm just waiting on my EAD. I will try to see if I can get my EAD expedited, and I will update the thread with my experience lol..hopefully that would be successful too!

You all have a wonderful day and a happy weekend :-)

Good Job for sticking with your instincts. I'm happy you had a friendly assistant, it just makes the nerves less nerve-wrecking. I do hope it helps with your process move faster. Oh yea..cant wait to your bundle of joy comes.

Regarding the biometrics, I believe you should get it probably by next week. Looking at my timelines, I'm sure your NOAs should arrive within the week and your biometrics should arrive anytime from this coming Friday to next week Friday. It comes pretty quick after the NOAs. And the paper NOAs usually arrive within 3-5 days after the emails/texts.

Hi everyone

12 midnight yesterday Finally got a notice from USCIS text message and e-mail of acceptance of all 3 forms and a reciept number starting with MSC. waiting on hard copy in the mail.

So the waiting begins.

So guys how long after this noa1 do we get biometrics appt letter?

i was just about to respond to your prior post. But i am glad you finally got acceptance texts and emails. Today, my husband told me the hard-copy came in the mail. So all we have to do now is biometrics which i heard takes about a 2 weeks to a month.

Hi Royo1. If your joint sponsor was a US citizen by birth, then instead of waiting to get the passport renewed, you can ask them to go to the Department of human Services in their county to get a certificate of live birth record. In my county, just like marriage certificates, they issue them same day. If they were naturalized, they can use their naturalization certificates too. Talk to them about these options so you can get your case moving once again. All the best!

Hi Destiny..yeah I wasn't sure if they were going to allow it or not but I decided to go try anyway (especially since my original date wouldn't have been convenient for me) and it worked lol. I'm happy your NOAs eventually arrived in the mail. Based on my timeline and others timeline, I believe your biometrics should arrive within 5-7 business days from tomorrow (since you received your paper NOAs today). I wish you all the best and hope your biometrics comes up quick. I wish you the very best!
