Hi everyone,

I am sending my paperwork for Green Card soon and would like to double-check couple of questions before doing so.

I am on work visa in the US and married my husband (he is a U.S. born citizen) in June. So basically will be adjusting my status here in the States. My husband and I have decided to send his I-130 and my I-485 and other forms together in one envelope.

How do I organize the whole case? Since there are a lot of forms and documents, I was thinking of using ACCO fasteners with tabs on the bottom instead of stapling or paper clips, like I read here http://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-and-fees/general-tips-assembling-applications-mailing%C2'>

Also I have no idea what type of cover letter should my husband write for my paperwork. Any samples or ideas?

I have the following documents:

Form I-130

One color photo of my husband

One color photo of me

G-325A for both of us

Copy of my husband's birth certificate

Copy of my husband's US passport

Copy of marriage certificate at courthouse

Copy of marriage certificate at church

Form I-485

My birth certificate - translated and signed by a certified translator.

Copy of my passport, all pages, including the U.S. visa page and I-94 front page

Form I-864

Original letter of my husband's employment on company's official letterhead

Copy of y husband's latest (2012) Tax Statement with W2 - is one year enough or should I put more?

Copies of my husbands latest pay stubs

Should I add any more supporting documents for I-864? My husband's salary is above the poverty guideline, so we won't need a joint sponsor.

Form I-131

Two color photos of me

Do I need to attach a separate sheet of paper, explaining why I need the advance parole? If yes, what type?

Form I-765

Copy of I-797A Notice of Action (my work visa approval notice)

Sealed medical exam records in an envelope from a local civil surgeon.

Thanks in advance,

Anna

I went through this list (http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide2) and organized the relevant material in similar structure. After gathering everything i had/needed, I searched for an AOS cover letter sample.

I created one cover letter for the overall packet, one specifically for the I-130 and another for the I-485. The medical envelope and I-864 i included under the I-485 'section'.

I ended up just using binder clips for each major section, then two rubber bands just before placing it in the express envelope.

With regards to the I-864, we sent 3 years of tax returns, W-2s and 1099s as well as 6 months of printed pay stubs - better to send too much info than too little.

Thank you for your reply!

Did you have a chance to look through the list that I have prepared, does it look good?

Your forms seem light. For example, where are your copies for evidence?

Go through the checklist I linked to above and compare it to what you currently have.

I didn't apply for I-131 and I sent in 5 photos of myself and 1 of my spouse in total with the packet.
