Timeline

Hello,

My friend married a girl in Pakistan and they filed a K3 visa. It took a long time to get the visa, almost 20 months. He supported her in Pakistan, helped out her mother to get her surgery. He was so excited for her to arrive in New York on the 14th of Dec. 2013.

She arrived and I never called him to check, didn't want to mess up his "honeymoon", I finally called today and found out that she already ran away with someone else. He said that he was got suspicious on first week when she will call and talk to someone endlessly. he asked her and she said she is talking to her mother, but later he saw phone number was from New York not Pakistan. Finally, second week, on 29th of Dec., he took her phone away, she got upset and shouted. Next morning she left the home and never returned, he later found out that she actually had contact with a couple of guys on her Facebook and checked the phone records, she was in contact with other guys from the day one when she got herself a phone.

My question and I need advice on what he can do if anything? He already made a missing person report. He also has her passport. He can call Pakistan counselor to report missing person, so they don't make another passport for her. I asked him to write a letter to immigration.

What else he can do, not to get her back but to makesure she is deported at the minimum.

So...

What visa did she arrive on? You mentioned the K3, but we don't really see anyone get that anymore. Did she arrive as a K3, a CR-1 or an IR-1?

He should ensure that she's actually OK, though.

If she doesn't have her passport, then she doesn't have her validated visa (if it was a CR/IR-1, then that's her temporary green card - and her *actual* green card will be arriving later in the mail).

If she arrived as a K3, then she still needs to adjust her status to get her green card.

his path for useful stuff with USCIS varies based on Visa Type.

What exact Visa Type did she enter on? You mention a K-3, I'm asking you to recheck that.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

First of all, regardless of what was said or done, if your friend has not spoken to her since the day she left, he should go to the police and report her as a missing person.

In regards to her immigration status, there is little he can do other than report her to the USCIS.

Good luck.

Thank you all for the reply. She had CR1 visa.

Well, in that case she's going to have to do the removal of conditions process just before her 2 year US entry anniversary, which is going to be tricky if she's run out on her husband as soon as she got to the USA.

I hope your friend has definitely confirmed that she's OK and isn't a missing person/in trouble in some bad way.
