And that's the problem. It's easier to say there's nothing to be done, so folks will keep dying as long as others can keep their guns.

Crime can be reduced without guns. It can be done, it just takes that much more work. Look at places like Japan, their gun fatality rate in in the mid teens, and for them that's too much.

Japan is interesting. I would say that the harsh penalties for firearm infractions are the reason for their low rate as opposed to limiting public access firearms (although they do both)

Most of the Yakuza families have widespread access to firearms, however the penalties for breaking the law are much stiffer there, hence they are less likely to carry firearms and more likely carry blades.

I don't. America is #1!

I swear, living in other countries and seeing how poverty, drugs and crime are almost non existent, makes me wonder what we are doing wrong.

The 3 years I spent living there, never had any run ins with those dudes, thank God.

Besides them, there isn't any reason to carry a gun over there or a knife.

are you proud of yourself for calling us all mental cases.

Class act you are

If you pack heat when taking your wife to dinner, you might just be a gun aficionado.

How many guns do you own?

None.

I bet you met a few without realizing it. They are, in a way, an integral part of Japanese society and do help their local communities in different ways.

Of course they do a lot of bad things too, like paying Fukushima cleanup crews minimum wage and then deducting room and board from their pay….all while skimming the money right off the top from contracts.

A lot of places we went made it clear as day if you had tattoos, you might not get service. I'd wager that was a reflection on them. My friend Le(vietnamese) always had issues because his entire arm was covered.

If you really believed that you'd buy a gun and join the Republican Party.

Are you that convinced she's really gonna hunker down and apply for USCitizenship, just so she can do that ?

Really? I stopped wondering about 15 years ago, after getting 'the word'. No wondering involved these days, I can point a finger and do the run-down, consistently.

Seems like we're too resistant to change.
