Why argue either way? It's simply a statistic that no one here can do anything about except argue. Which is pretty much the reason CEHST exists.

The US is in the middle of the pack for gun homicides per capita for the whole world. What do you your posts here hope to accomplish? Neither you nor I can lower that rate at all, all we can do is raise it. But neither of us have. I'd say we are doing what we can to keep the numbers as low as they are.

How many guns do you own?

What do anyone's posts here hope to achieve? Perhaps you need to ask yourself that as well.

Among peers we're not just the worst but the worst by a huge margin. I take absolutely no comfort in doing better than some of the most desolate places in the world. That's not a particularly good comparison. But then, you seem to like bad comparisons a lot.

So you say we take the WHOLE package when talking gun or vehicle deaths (accidental, himicide, suicide, etc.), but we are not to look at the whole picture when it comes to gun deaths as compared to the rest of the world. Just the few countries you deem peers. Hardly seems a rational comparison or argument. You prefer the raw numbers of the US vs. say the UK, but the per capita deaths don't shout your personal opinion as loudly, so you opt not to use those statistics. Got it.

And FWIW, my comparisons are every bit as spot-on as the ones you dream up.

The difference between guns and cars is that people don't jump in their car to kill a bunch of people on purpose. They grab their gun.

Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols jumped behind the wheel, and took out a lot more than your normal shooting spree. :)

But I get your point.

I have. It's usually a need for amusement, or simply boredom. It's not like CEHST provides any real assistance or value, other than the ability to argue with others that would normally be inaccessible.

I give up and Google didn't know either, what is CEHST?

Never mind I figured it out.

Did they mow people down? Or did they use the car for a bomb? Either way, it's apple and oranges.

As far as I've seen, we're ahead of countries plunged into civil wars, and behind countries that have close to our resources, yet less crime and death.

I swear, living in other countries and seeing how poverty, drugs and crime are almost non existent, makes me wonder what we are doing wrong.

Which countries have no poverty drugs and crime? I am intruded

I know it is not the Philippines

Guess I could find one without poverty and crime...A few drugs might be ok

You like that question. Is someone's opinion worth more depending on how many they own? Is that how value is determined to you?

No, just curious how many people talk about guns being so bad actually own them. Your opinion isn't worth any more if you own a gun.
