Marriage is often the cause of men turning gay.

Seriously, I live in an area with a high gay population, and many are my clients. As folks get older, it is less about sex, and more about companionship. Guys just have more in common with other guys, and the same for women. Sex is just sex. It is a bodily function, just like going to the bathroom. You can decide to pee on a tree, or use a toilet. That is a conscious decision, and for many of the gays I know, it is that simple.

I've known of men who got married to women and had children while hiding the fact that they were gay... but never any that suddenly turned gay. I don't believe sexual preference is a switch that can just be flipped.

It is not a switch. Nobody is totally straight, or totally gay, despite how much one insists one way or another. Sexuality is a spectrum. Any male that watches anything but all-girl porn has the ghey. If that sex toy resembles a male member in any way, the lesbians still have the need. It is not the sexual organs that determine who will like who, except in the most shallow manner, it is the person the sexual organs are attached to. People age. Their bodies get less attractive. However, we develop a fondness for what is inside, not the accessories on the outside.

Okay, Danno. How many gay people do you know that woke up one day and CHOSE to be gay?

Seriously, why don't you just one time.... come up with something that is not on at least in poster at every gay rights rally.

Of course I didn't choose to be straight or choose to walk upright or choose to love my mom, these are just normal natural parts of human development.

The 5 percent of people who don't follow the pattern of the majority or the pattern we find so consistent in nature, they are the ones you might want to be curious about.

One can be completely consistent to believe Gays neither choose to be gay or that they were born that way.

While it is certainly not a scientific study, ...of the few gays I have known close enough to talk about it, all but one had an early sexual experience with an adult.

One person who is related to me, I don't think he had that experience, ....though we never had such a conversation.

So these things are really a mystery and I suspect they will remain so for some time because no one wants to release research on these topics....

I mean, when the Health agencies are afraid to even report on an increase in STD's without offering some bogus excuse.... you know it's getting bad.

I believe that when you juxtapose both comments, we all realize that the entire thread is not predicated on the issue of sexual assault so much as it is a referendum on the life of others.

There is nothing that justifies a sexual assault on anyone. This is no different than the ever present 'she was asking to be raped, wearing that dress', as a means to justify rape.

We can discuss homosexuality as much as we want, however no one deserves to be sexually assaulted, regardless of whether sexual orientation is a choice of not.

I maintain that all this gay bashing is nothing but self flagellation possibly resulting form self loathing.
