Quick question: For the I-485, do you write just one check for $1070, which is the combined total for the application and the biometrics fee? or are they supposed to be two separate checks?

My husband wrote 2 separate checks to be sure. One for the I485 fee and one for the biometrics.

I also have a question related to the fee.. do you recommend a personal check? what did you send?

Personal is fine. You can track it that way. I've used a cashiers check and a money order, only because I don't have paper checks anymore. trust me, the check is the least of your worries when it comes to possible mistakes.

One check is all you need for the total amount $1070. This is what my gal and I did. Personal check is fine. Most people use a money order.
