Tax transcript is a official paper from govt saying how much u made and paid taxes.

W2 is from employer which shows gross amt.

Tax transcript is more better. But w2 works too.

The W2 on its own is useless. You EITHER need to submit copies of your entire tax return submission OR the free tax transcripts available free from the IRS. guess which is better?

NO.......a copy of the complete tax return filing....copy of =every document submitted to the IRS......OR, the free IRS tax transcript. Those are best.

If you have a tax return transcript, you do not need any other tax documentation such as W2s, tax return forms, schedules, etc. All you need is the tax return transcript. The transcript has ALL the information from every document you file with your taxes.

As was already stated, if you have your tax return transcript, you do not need anything else.

I have encountered a few cases over the years here on VJ where tax transcripts from K-1ers were turned down by the U.S. Embassy Manila and, instead, tax returns and W-2s were required.

I always advocate to play it safe by preparing the best case possible:

> Current W-2

> Several current paycheck stubs

> Employer's letter

Copies are fine. i meant bring both ITR and W2 just to be safe. this is the interview stage already. I for one didn't want to be given a 221g for anything so I came absolutely prepared.
