NBI clearance for name with a 'hit'

 Share

I might have a 'hit' on my name when applying for NBI clearance. That is, there are other people with the same name as mine but most likely a different birth date and different birth place.

Does anyone know how long it will take for me to obtain the NBI clearance in this case? I will be filing for the clearance through the NBI satellite offices in Metro Manila's malls.

The last time I applied for the NBI clearance was in 2004 or 2005 for a job, and the regional NBI office in Baguio took 3 weeks to process the application! I was told it was because other people have my name too and everything had to be coursed through the NBI office in Manila and the Baguio office wasn't computerized then.

Thank you for any helpful replies.

I think it varies, depending on where you apply.

I applied for NBI clearance last June 2013 at Las Pinas City Hall and it took 15 business days to get it. I also have a name hit because I have a very common name. I'm just glad that I applied in advance so by the time NVC was requiring the IV package, I already have my NBI on-hand.

NBI Main Manila informed me back then that it takes 2-3 weeks to get clearance when you get a hit.

The quickest way is to go to the main office of the NBI in Manila on Taft Ave. That's where all the other office's will query for your results. Bring any all documents that have proof of your name, birth and parents names. If you get a hit it may take 2-3 weeks to sort out everything. I'm speaking from my Fiancé experience in just the past 6 months. She had visited NBI in Pagadien and Manila 3 times each till she got her named clear. Her issue aren't the same as what you are describing but just the same yours will very from everyone else.

So 3x visit each to NBI Pagadian and Manila? That sounds like a lot of effort for a clear record?

If I remember right it took my wife an extra week to receive her NBI because of a name hit.

Well, when the prize is greater than the parts then yes, going the distance is needed to have your love one standing by your side. It's taken us 4 years when we started this process; from the mis-start with an annulment to a divorce decree to NBI problems and I thought they wouldn't ever stop.

Frustrating? Yes! girlwerewolf2xn.gif

Needed to be done this way? Yes! good.gif

But you know what? I woke up next to her the past 4 mornings and would do it all over again, I enjoyed this morning watching her two kids sitting on the couch with smiles on their face because they were here!!! (they were beginning to watch the "Home Alone" series of which there are 6-7 movies. If I get home in time I will see the ending credits to the last one.) rofl.gif

Good luck.

I applied in a mall here in Cebu last week and if your name is "hit", they said it will only take a week before you can get your clearance. Last May I took a clearance at the same place and took them 15 business days to give me my clearance for the same case. I believe it will depend on where you will process it and it will be better to get one now.

I had to wait 3 weeks for mine but if you have proof that you need the NBI Clearance asap, you can talk to the head and have it processed faster. Although I see your interview is still Feb. so they might say you don't need it to be expedited.

I'll be picking up my NBI clearance end of this week and my interview is still in Feb 2014. I think I'll make it!

The reason it's being 'expedited' is because NBI will be doing computer system maintenance and they need to release by 27 December all clearance applications submitted by 20 December. That's what the guy doing the biometric fingerprint scan told me anyway.

The problem with NBI, they're NEVER consistent with their procedures. "Swertihan" or "para-paraan" lang talaga. wink.png
