Guys from UKRAINE, please i kindly ask you to share your experience as for the medical exam in Kiev at Amosova 8 Street.

1. When do you recommend to take it? (I mean early morning or during the day is fine (until 3 pm.).

2. How much time does this exam take?

3. Taking into account our ¨soviet past¨ are doctors angry with life or they are friendly and open?

4. Except of X-ray and blood test (by the way do they take it from vein?) what else do they need?

5. If i go to my local doctor and ask to make my vaccination list of vaccines I already had, is this helpful?

6. Can i ask them for the Vaccination list in English? (As far as I know I will need to present it to the USCIS when i do AOS), Will they provide me?

7. In case if some vaccinations are missing, do you recommend to do them in Ukraine or better it the USA?

8. What else do they check when passing medical exam.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You can't come any later than around 10-11am or they won't let you in.

2. How much time does this exam take?

We came at around 8:20am, finished by 1pm, most of the time spent waiting for X-Ray

3. Taking into account our ¨soviet past¨ are doctors angry with life or they are friendly and open?

Angry with life if you're coming from US point of view, pretty standard for Ukraine point of view, not any worse or better than most anywhere else in Ukraine

4. Except of X-ray and blood test (by the way do they take it from vein?) what else do they need?

Blood test from the vein, also take general measurements (height weight blood pressure) and ask about any past illnesses you had

5. If i go to my local doctor and ask to make my vaccination list of vaccines I already had, is this helpful?

Yes, bring what vaccinations you had from local clinic so they can copy it over

6. Can i ask them for the Vaccination list in English? (As far as I know I will need to present it to the USCIS when i do AOS), Will they provide me?

They do fill out the vaccination sheet, and give you a copy of it

7. In case if some vaccinations are missing, do you recommend to do them in Ukraine or better it the USA?

You should do them before the medical so they can fill it in, otherwise you will somehow have to prove to civil surgeon in the US that you had them done. It's probably cheaper to do in Ukraine.

8. What else do they check when passing medical exam.
