Hello All;

i am new to this community and came across it when i was searching for the details of the H1B1 visa type.

I am currently working in Dubai on engineering position with a U.S company which is quite a big and re-known company in the world regarding its work. Now this same company wants me to work with them in the U.S for which i would need to apply for visa. After talking to my HR they said that they will file H1B1 visa for me by March next year and its visas are normally granted somewhere in Aug or Sept.

The drawback is that we don't know whether they want to keep the offered position vacant until i get my visa and get to work or not. So i wanted to seek your help in this regard that is there any other visa type that they can apply for me to get me to work in the U.S faster.

Looking for experts to answer.

Never thought would do this but Sent EAD for renewal July 06, 2015

EAD/AP renewal received by USCIS and NOA 1 mailed July 07,2015

I-485: Case updated, Welcome Notice was mailed  (07/09/15) Took 6 months and 27 days from the date of NPIW and after 10 months and 2 days of NOA 1

Welcome Notice hard copy received in mail, GC should arrive in 3 weeks (07/13/15)<p>

I went green and received my Green Card on (07/29/15)

No. And the dates are April (1st) for application and October for receiving a visa. In addition last year they took more applications than visas available and had to do the lottery between those who applied.

kzielu So it means that they accept only a limited number of applications every year??? there got to be some other visa type and way as well...

Boiler: What is L visa type??? what it states? Please elaborate a little bit.

L 1 is the usual visa when a multi national wishes to move staff to the US.

H is more common where it is a new hire to the US Company.

Boiler Thanks for the info i just googled for the L type but it says that you should have been working for the company for atleast last one year but i have been working with them for last 7months so L is not applicable.

Let me dig up for the H type.

11 month wait for H, assuming you are lucky in the lottery.

Boiler you are right our company's Senior recruiter is now going to contact the HR who deals with these visa processing and will come back to me in next week with some news. Finger crossed till then. Will share with you guys to seek some more suggestions from you guys.

That's exactly what it means, there is quota for H-1Bs. Good luck with finding other visas since you say there have to be one...
