Need help!! I-864 Supplemental documents

Hello!!

I have a situation..

I am self-employed as a hair stylist and so a lot of my earnings are dealt in cash.

For filing I-864 you need a letter of employment and pay stubs or pay evidence.

I also have my two most recent tax transcripts which both qualify above the poverty line.

Does anyone know how I'm supposed to write a letter for self-employment and further more prove my income?

There isn't much money in my bank account because I keep cash.

Not sure if that waves them in any way

Yes! I have filed schedule C-EZ from FORM 1040

I think a transcript of your last years taxes would be enough. Thats what I included with my application. I brought paystubs with to the interview but didn't mail any with the application.

where exactly does it say that you need pay stabs and letter of employment?

on the instruction page it says that you may include additional supporting evidence such as pay stabs and letter of employment if you think this will help you to show your current income, this is in case if you didn't have that income before and it does not show on your taxes but generally they base everything off your taxes

Okay! So you, as a self-employed person with schedule C, do not need to include proof of current income. USCIS will go by your previous years' tax returns, instead.

Hmm. You're right about it not being nescessary. I was just going off what I was suggested by our attourney.

They didn't look at them. I figure its good to bring along, just in case..

Shoot!! Actually looking at it, I did not earn enough on my 1040 Schedule C-EZ as self-employed.

I had other income with a part-time job with my additional freelancing as self-employed to qualify, but recently quit to be full-time self-employed. I don't have any other proof of income from here.

Do you think they will accept my forms anyways??
