I am a U.S. female petitioner for my UK fiancé.

I haven't completed my tax returns in 3 years. But I have filed extensions for those years.

I own my own business. But I can only prove that I've been making $1,200 per month. My business is not earning as much as it was 8-12 months ago.

I started collecting food stamps & medical benefit in March 2013.

My future husband has $6,000 saved, and will have around $8,000 saved at the time of visa interview. Will this help us? Or do I need to get a co sponsor?

I'm afraid they will deny us because of me receiving benefits.

What should I do?

If you don't show an income you need to show 5 times the poverty 125% level in assets. So you need to show you have $24000 x 5 = $120,000 in banks or property value in your name with no mortgage.

So co-sponsor may be the way to go but with finances this bad, you're really taking a huge gamble with a k-1.

It appears you will need a cosponsor and you need to file your taxes, you will need those returns for the immigration process..

I would contact IRS and file those old taxes. The returns will probably be needed later down the road, at the Embassy interview.
