My fiance in the Philippines went to the medical exam and they told her there's something abnormal on the x-ray of her lungs and now she has to go back there THREE TIMES to get a sputum test. Her interview was going to be November 21 and the I-129F is going to expire on November 23. They told her to call the embassy to cancel her interview. I know that only a consular can extend the validity of her I-129F. Is there anyone who knows how we get that to happen?

I think you or your wife should call US embassy manila to ask about rescheduling the interview. i know they will give you an instruction on how will be the process. i guess that st. lukes clinic will notify the U.S embassy manila why the interview was cancelled. and the U.S embassy manila will notify NVC to reschedule the interview. but good thing to do for now.. is to call U.S embassy manila and ask an officer about how will be the process. Good luck.

Yup the petition validity can be extended up to a year. Call the embassy, she can mention the extension when she calls to cancel the interview.

Hank, I already canceled the interview online. St. Luke advised my fiance to cancel it and they will do the rescheduling themselves. Do you think it is best for my fiance to call the embassy and mention about the extension just to be safe? Edited by makulit909

You shouldn't have to worry about it. He can call if he wants, just for peace of mind.

Just wanted to say I'm really sorry to hear that your fiancee didn't pass. There are few things as disappointing as having the start of your life delayed. Praying that she gets a clean bill of health soon and they do her next appointment quickly!
