Refer to your packet but recently they have changed it to DS 160

I would suggest to do the DS 160, its less hassle specially during the entrance.

I just had my interview last oct 29 and i used ds 160 and im happy i used it than the ds 156 etc.,

Are you applying for an F-1student visa (a non-immigrant visa) or the F1 immigrant visa? They require completely different forms. If it's the F1 student visa, then the replies saying to use the DS-160 are correct.

I am not sure what is used for the F-1 visa... that is a totally different type of visa. I know for the K-1 Fiancee visa you use the DS-160.
