Hi everyone,

This is my first time to post and I would like to thank everyone in advance as all of you have been a great help in preparing our K-1 Fiance visa application. I have learned a lot in this forum! smile.png

Short information about me, I am the beneficiary based in Singapore and my boyfriend of 14 years is the USC. We were high school classmates and that is where it all started. I visited him in the US last month (September - October 2013) and finally he proposed! YAYYY!! heart.gif That was the best trip ever!! smile.png

We are now onto the next steps so we can be together as soon as possible. I've spent all my free time researching about K-1 visa application and have gathered the necessary documents. Had I known that all boarding passes, receipts and hotel tickets are so important, I could have kept ALL of them but I'm still grateful that I've kept some so I can send them what I have. We have tons of pictures together but I understand that they are considered as secondary evidence.

May I trouble you guys to check the list of what I'm planning to send? I am trying to avoid RFE because it delays the process but I am confident that we can prove our genuine relationship. I have waited for this for so long already, as you all can imagine! LOL!

So here goes my detailed I-129F Checklist Prior to Mailing Petition

  1. I-129F Cover Letter (signed and dated) (Petitioner)

So, if you are the adjudicator, are you going to approve my application without RFE? smile.png Also, I just have a question regarding Form I-129F 15.e., 15.g., 15.h., should I complete the details even if I am NOT currently in the United States?

Please feel free to let me know your thoughts as we want to make this process as smooth as possible. Thank you so much everyone!! smile.png

I would include a copy of Petitioner's passport (front to back). Beneficiary's Birth Certificate is not necessary at this stage but won't hurt to include.

15a-h is N/A for your case since you're currently not in the US at the time you submit the form

You're good to go. Good luck on your journey!

Birth certificate of the beneficiary is actually not yet needed. But proof of citizenship of the USC/petitioner should be included (Certificate of naturalization / Birth certificate if born in US).

Good luck!

Hi, to not open up another post, I am using this one since I found it googling.

I noticed in the item 9, sub item 2

"Statement stating the exact dates on which petitioner and beneficiary have met in person (Beneficiary)"

Is this needed by both the beneficiary and the pettioner or any would suffice?

I am asking because on the instructions I read the following:

"Submite evidente that you and your fiance have met in persion during the past 2 years preceding your filing of this petition. Such evidence may include a written statement from your and/or the beneficiary stating the exact date(s) on which your met in persion, copy of airline tickets, passport pages....."

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Hi danielabdala_86! That's exactly the reason why we wrote a statement since that is our understanding of the instructions. But after reading so much in this forum, I'd say that the other primary evidence like passport stamps, boarding passes, etc. are still more important and has more weight than the statement. To be on the safe side, we did both as we think it wouldn't hurt to include. I hope this helps!

Beneficiary's birth certificate is not needed. Your proof of relationship (#15) isn't needed either as well, but you can include some evidence. This proof of relationship has no bearing on the approval of your I-129f, simply it goes to the embassy. The statements from petitioner and beneficiary stating the exact dates you met (#9.1 and 9.2) are not needed either, because you already have sufficient evidence proving when you met.
