Hello everyone,

I have a question. I am waiting on my Case Number, Invoice ID number, beneficiary number from NVC but in the mean time i am making ready my documents. its been 10 days of calling NVC but they say they received it but not in their system yet. How long does it take for them to input it?

My question is In affidavit of Support, In principle immigrant, Should i show something? If yes, How much should it be? I mean i am full filling the Support requirements already as a US Spouse.

Thanks in advance

you will get it your case number soon , as far the affidavit of support you will need to meet ABOVE the poverty guide line . if you don't, get your joint sponsor ready beforehand. my case stuck because i just hit the poverty guide line requirement. and CO asked for joint sponsor.

if you work in the usa, the beneficiary listed in the I-130,

why are you chasing a visa at a US Consulate?

Somethings amiss.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Sounds like the OP is the petitioner to me, since they are addressing someone else outside the US as a 'he' who 'is going to bring it'. I was not aware of any requirements about showing beneficiary's income though.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

ya, sorry, on reread #3, OP is the petitioner.

The I-864 is a multi-purpose form, so remember that, firstly. Those doing an AOS in the USA might fall into that other category, where the foreign spouse's income is in the USA, and will continue after green card issuance. The I-864 is used for those other casefile types, so there's a spot for it (hence the multi-purpose-ness of this form)

Second, it's on the USA Petitioner to show income, assets, etc on the I-864

unless the beneficiary's income will continue, an ongoing job, with same company,

inside the USA after immigrating.

OK let me clear the confusion

I am the US spouse working here and making above poverty line. I have some funds also to show. If you go to Form I-864, On page 6 item 6, its optional to show prinicple immigrants saving/ checking. My question is, is it neccessary to put something there and put the evidence with it. I mean i know it says optional but Do people leave it blank or do they put something there( i need to know the general practise of the members here)

I think i am clear now. please let me know

No, you don't have to show anything from the benificary side as they won't count it anyway... As long as you the USC can support them here in the USA, that is only what matters to demonstrate.
