The bastards at Verizon are charging me 350 dollars this month, despite the fact that I made the same calls at the same times as every other month. I guess due to some changes in biling? So anyway, I want out of this crappy rip-off plan.

I feel like paying $175 to get out of this plan after they already ripped me off is sort of a slap in the face. Any ideas? They told me on the phone that I'd have to be dying, but last time when I moved out of the country they let me cancel for free...

have a piece of mail sent to Rey in Brazil in your name....show them you're moving to Brazil. That's how I got out of my gym contract.

Another time by BF faked military orders!~! That worked too

Your billing should be according to your contract...if you have placed the same calls/same times as other billing cycles then how do they explain the difference in charges? Did you get an amended Terms in the mail that you possibly didn't respond to?

I had to pay the same thing to get out of Verizon's contract. I'm sure there are tons of people very happy with Verizon, but I am NOT one of them. They do NOT care, and their customer service sucks big time. I had a lot of calls during the time my mother was dying of cancer and I was TWO days late getting their payment to them by online billpay...they cut me off despite me telling them the circumstances and the fact that the payment had been made they didn't care. The one guy actually said

"Do you know how many people use the 'sick mom' excuse?" What a d*ck.

I use Cingular now. So far, no problems.

I think that must have happened. I have calls that I made after 9 pm being charged. I pointed this out to the lady on the phone and she said it was correct. I couldn't talk any sense into these people. Geez, does she think I like talking to Rey at 1 am his time!?

To get them to send a piece of mail, do I just give them the address and then have them send it back or something?

I hate signing contracts. I have t-mobile and haven't had a problem but when my contract expired I decided to by a month to month basis. I hate feeling like I am stuck. I have heard a lot of bad stuff about Verizon. I hope you get out of it!

Thanks, I think I'm going to get that t-mobile fave 5 thing. That way all the calls to my parents, Rey (he has a U.S. vonage number) and other close friends will be free. Thus, saving the big bucks.

This is why we're with T-Mobile. We're never more than 12 months from getting out of it.

I read an article or discussion about this once before. One method, if you have one of those nationwide no roaming plans, is to find holes in their coverage and make lots of calls from there. Since you won't be using Verizon's infrastructure, they'll be paying through the nose for those calls. Eventually they'll ask you if you wouldn't be served better by a different provider and let you out of your contract.

Yup. Cingular used to, but they stopped that last year.

Try being in an area where Verizon is the only carrier and you have no choice but to use their service. That's how it is with us. I just had to call and change over to an international plan so we will have service for the 2 weeks we are going to be in Mexico. Because the guy tells me my phones won't work otherwise. Javier says, maybe he's just lying. To which I say, well what choice do we have. We either trust he's being honest and change the plan or we don't change the plan and chance not having service once we get down there. So I have to pay an outrageous international fee for 2 weeks. It's just ridiculous.

I hope you get out of your contract.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!
