I originally posted in August regarding petitioning my fiance who lives in Brazil. We received our NOA1 August 12th. On October 7th we received our NOA2 that approved our petition! I was expecting it to take longer-but not complaining:) Is this a normal processing time? Also, should my fiance apply for a work permit (I-765) when he arrives? I remain appreciative of all your encouragement and feedback!

We had or NOA1 on August 13th, and NOA came yesterday, October 16th. Things looks to be moving realatively quickly. Congratulations!

Definitely apply for the work permit along with the green card (AOS). It may take several months to get the green card, but the work permit comes fairly quickly.

Congratulations on the NOA2! We were in Rio last week and completed the medical exam while we were there because we had received our case number, although we don't have the interview date yet. Be sure that you give yourself sufficient time to get the medical exam done in advance of the interview, because we spent several hours going to get the x-rays, blood test, and additional vaccinations done and I would not have wanted that stress just before the interview!
