Felicidades!! I hope everything goes well with your pregnancy and that you will be reunited before baby comes!

Kayleigh, I just read your signature and see that you got a CRBA for your baby. Can you please tell me whether it was an easy process and what kind of evidence you gave for your five years of presence in the U.S.? We're expecting ours in April.

No problem!! It was super easy. We ended up going to the embassy three times though, which was kind of a pain. Everything was said and done in less than two months. Our son is now a US citizen and a Dominican citizen with a US passport and SSN. For proof, I had a huge folder from immunization records, to my blood donor card showing when I donated. The ONLY thing I was asked for was my school transcript and my Social security income earning statement which is free online. The officer didn't ask us any questions at all. Hope this helps, if you have any more specific questions feel free to ask! And CONGRATZ!!

9/17/2011-----Married
2/17/2012-----Found out we were pregnant

That's really great to hear it was so quick! How soon after he was born did you send in the application to the embassy?

I'm preparing the following evidence, let me know what you think:

1. All of my medical and immunization records

2. All of my tax returns and Social Security earnings statements

3. My high school and college transcripts

4. Several years of grade school report cards

5. My pay stubs for the past two years at work and a letter from my boss

6. All of my parents tax returns where they included me as their dependent

7. My old, first passport and my current one

What is the reason you had to go back three times, if you don't mind me asking? I hope we won't have to.

Thanks! I really appreciate the compliments and input. It helps! :)

Kayleigh, I just read your signature and see that you got a CRBA for your baby. Can you please tell me whether it was an easy process and what kind of evidence you gave for your five years of presence in the U.S.? We're expecting ours in April.

My daughter got approved for her CRBA and US passport on oct 11 2013, keep in mind your all application must be notarized from notary public.

Here is what my wife took to CRBA interview:

1)(DS 2029) I signed and notarized

2)affidavit of physical presence form I signed and notarized.

3) DS 3053, I singed and notarized

4) My 3 years tax return (if your spouse has 5years would be fine)

5)school transcript,pay stub

6)My orignal naturalized certificate

7) Certified Copy of US passort info page.

8) Original Birth Certificate of your child

9) Original marriage certificate.

10) original birth Certificate from hospital

11)wedding pictures, ultrasound report , medical record during pregnancy, That's all (RESULT APPROVED )

Go to your concern embassy/consulate website for further info:

CO asked lot of question about our wedding to my wife though. how, when and where did we meet how many person were in your wedding so on and so fourth. just tell the truth whatever they asked. you will be fine ..

I hope it help, GudLuck:)

The application itself, or the supporting evidence, needs the notary stamp?

I'm the U.S. Citizen and would be the one submitting the tax returns. I will have 4-6 years of tax returns when submitting for the CRBA and will be submitting my high school and college transcripts as well.

What do you mean by a Certified Copy of the passport info page? As far as I can tell the DOS doesn't give out certified copies of passports. I'm not sure why we would need to give ultrasound reports and medical records during the pregnancy. What for? Makes no sense that the would ask questions about the wedding. I don't see how it has any relevance to the CRBA.

Thanks

Yes, you must signed where it necessary before the notary public officer to all of your application form that i mentioned above. It has to be done by in the US notary public. you can't submit CRBA directly to embassy or consulate no matter you are a US citizen by birth or naturalized. on parent must appear at interview along with your child.

Certified copies of us passport info page can be certified by notary public office as well. if you are a US citizen and going to interview then won't need certified copies, just take old and current US passport, you don't need this form to filled out DS 3053, IF US Citizen parent is going for interview.

Here is my 2 cents, these evidence will establish the relationship between yours child. Ultrasound reports, medical records during pregnancy is a essential part of CRBA to satisfying CO. Otherwise you might end up doing DNA test which can take months, time, and money. if you are not familiar with the fee of DNA test you must google it. Remember it's not as simple as A,B,C as soon as you submit the documents BOOM done you will given CRBA NO rather there is a procedure to follow.

I am suggesting you because i have done it and gone through it just a week ago...let me know if you need further suggestion cheers:)

Oh ok. Thanks. I'll be going to the interview.

I guess I still don't follow how ultrasounds and medical records will establish that it's my child, because I won't be with my wife during almost the entire pregnancy and there is no DNA on those tests. So how will those prove my relationship with the child? I've heard Poland likely doesn't need a DNA test because it's not a high fraud embassy and am hoping it won't take us too long to get the CRBA because I'll only be in Poland for two months after the birth, then I have to go back to the states.

Thanks again. :)

No problem, i just have shared what i experienced it might be vary from country to country however, procedure is the same. As you mentioned Poland isn't a high fraud country it's a PLUS. i would be more than happy that if it doesn't take long for you guys to get CRBA or US passportsmile.png

well, regards to DNA testing doesn't matter you are to be with your wife in Poland

Though it seems unnecessary info to give you but for the sake of knowledge: Here it goes

In order to done DNA testing a Father should make an appointment First in the States http://www.aabb.org/sa/facilities/Pages/RTestAccrFac.aspx

After a Father done DNA the kit goes to concern embassy.

then Mother and child has to go to an embasy for their DNA

At end the kit send it back to UNITED STATES. they test those samples and matches that's it DONE

It’s fairly easy to understand. Approximate time of conception and physical presence in the same location at applicant's time of conception.

Ultrasound and pre-natal care records along with your (USC) physical presence in the same location at applicant’s time of conception will help the consular officer determine a link, a biological relationship between the USC parent and applicant child.

As for DNA testing, your lacking the basic understanding of how it work's and when it’s applied, I would recommend you read this link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1337.html as this can apply too anyone in any country not just, “"high fraud embassy.”

"When no substantive form of credible evidence is available in conjunction with a CRBA application, a parent may find genetic testing to be a useful tool for confirming a stated biological relationship.

Do not initiate a DNA test unless it is recommended by the Embassy for your pending CRBA application. A DNA test that is done independently will not be accepted to support a CRBA or Passport

Thank You sjr09 elaborating the procedure more clearly, he thinks that would be a piece of cake will get a CRBA done with no effort..

Oh ok. Well the only thing I didn't know about was the DNA test and didn't see that on the DOS website. Thank you for the link. I've read about the CRBA process for a long time and know a lot about it. Just didn't know that.

Thank You sjr09 elaborating the procedure more clearly, he thinks that would be a piece of cake will get a CRBA done with no effort..

Um, no. I don't think it will be "a piece of cake", as you say. Where in my posts did I even infer or say that??? Can you please tell me? If anything I'm over prepared. I have all of my grade school, high school and college transcripts and report cards, all of my tax returns, all of my bank account statements, all of my parents' tax returns showing me as a dependent, my old passport, my current passport, plane ticket stubs, all of my cell phone bills, utility bills, DMV driver records, court records for speeding tickets I've gotten, Customs and Border Protection records of my entry and exit into and out of the United States, pay stubs and employer verification letters etc etc etc. All of these are to prove my physical presence in the U.S. throughout my life. In addition, I also have photos with time and date stamps on them proving my wife and I were together on the date of conception, as well as hotel receipts proving that fact. So I like I said, I'm over prepared and don't think it will be a cakewalk.

The only thing I didn't know anything about was this requirement, which I can't find anywhere, of ultrasound and pre-natal care records. I still don't see how those prove that I am the father of the child. They don't. They're just records that prove my wife went to get a checkup on a certain day, with pictures of the baby in utero. It doesn't show anything about my relationship with the child. I will have been 5000 miles away the entire time my wife was pregnant and will not have been with her or the baby until the birth and for two weeks over Christmas and New Year's Eve. However, with your advice, we will provide the ultrasounds and pre-natal care records. Thanks

You're welcome! And sorry i misunderstood you

Awesomegood.gif , you have solid proof of physical presence if you take a quick glance to my first post once again my wife did not even take some evidence you're mentioned such as tickets, receipts, DMV driver record, court record, yet we still approved. So, it depends on CO i would take it all of the above and highly recommend, besides It won't bother taking them to interviewsmile.png

No problem! It's all good. :)

Thanks, it's great to hear someone else thinks I have enough. I've been preparing all of the documents I can over the past two months. It's crazy, but will be so worth it once our baby gets the passport. And if you get approved without all of that stuff surely that must be a good sign for my wife and I. :)

I'm curious, how long after your baby was born did you schedule the interview and how long after the interview did you get the CRBA? Did they give it to you right at the embassy? Also, did you just bring the CRBA Application with you to the interview, or did you send it in beforehand? Sorry for so many questions. I'm just asking them because the DOS website really doesn't go into detail about those things and I wanted to get them resolved now. Thanks gain. :)

Well, my baby born on August 7, 2013 and right after two months on Oct 11, 2013 was the date of CRBA interview, No they don't give you right at the embassy rather it takes 4 weeks to process them because CRBA and passport is printed in the UNITED STATE. My wife had given a receipt to hold on to it until we receive an email from embassy to pick up your child's passportsmile.png . that's what CO told to my wife..

Yes, you must have to take all of your CRBA applications, evidence, and other documents to the interview along with your child and wife, never ever send it beforehand...i will update here once i get an email regards to itsmile.png but i have to wait it's been only 11 days as of now
