October is right around the corner and no doubt us October filers have either already started putting our packets together or will be doing so shortly.

I've started gathering some of the relevant evidence and printed some for our application (bank records, signed leases, etc) and will continue working on it before next week.

Let's use this thread for any questions regarding the application process and the gathering of evidence.

I APOLOGIZE FOR DOUBLE POSTING THIS

I received the 751 interview letter not long ago so i decided to go online to find out more about what the interview will entail and I came across this useful website.

When it comes to the joint documents proof, we agreed to keep a lot of accounts separate for the time being. We have the basic certificates. In regards to our tax documents, each of us chose "married but filed separately" I assume bringing in these tax documents would help? My parents wanted us to move into their house as it is just my mom/dad that lives in this big house. Ever since she's been here, we haven't been on any major trips as we decided to get back to school and finish up with that first. I don't know what else they would ask other than reading what you all put from your experience.

I shouldn't have anything to worry about but the more and more stuff i read online, the more antsy i get as I have anxiety about big events such as this one. Worst case, what happens if we don't get approved? If we do get approved, how long before we find out? Does each state interview differently or does it just depend on who our interviewer is?

Advice, suggestions? Our interview is next month.

Well let the journey begin. I will be mailimg mine on October 7th. Can't wait to see how this all turns out, since we will be doing it ourselves. No paid legal assistance this time around.

I am going to file in October too, one question what is the bracket for 90 days? I understand this is 90 days prior to expiry of your 2 year GC?

That is correct, If your green card expires on January 1st 2014 then you can apply starting on October 1st 2013. Always 3 months before your GC is set to expire.

Well actualy, it's 90 days, not 3 months. So with that expire date, you can apply on October 3rd.

If USCIS receive your package even 1 day earlier, they will send your package back to you!

It expires Jan 05, 2014. By now, I think I rather risk it and see if they send it back to me or accept it a few days earlier, although unlikely.

So, it is a week earlier. Well, it will be great if they accept by chance but if they send it back after your biometric, there is no way to get back your money and waste the time I guess. They gonna send it back with uncashed check. So, don't worry about it (But you still need another postage though...)
