Hello! I am filing for my husbands IR-1 visa, Im stuck on a biggggg problem, I need a loan, and in order to get the loan I have to put up property, the only property I own has my husbands name and mine on it. So I have to get a power of attorney! How do I do this with him out of the country, is there a way around getting the loan if he is not here>??? any help will be awesome! Thank you !! ! !

He can execute a power of attorney in the country where he lives or is presently domiciled and have it acknowledged at your consulate. I am not sure how your local law operates with the issue of contracting a loan on your own, but if it involves communal property I do not think you can apply for one without your husband's consent.

Thank you for your response...Unfortunately the consulate does not help in these matters you have to go to a lawyer...I sent the power of attorney via email to my husband who paid 50.00 to get it notarized, then for it to be sent it was another 50.00..So all in all, this power of attorney cost about 100.00..ranting33va.gif .Only with this paper I can get the loan, its really up to the loan holders luckily my people our awesome, and they will except the one that my husband sent me....Its just very costly...I think this paper would have cost me about 5.00 to do here.. sleepy.gif
