I called NVC this morning about updates to my case, they said it was sent to China on Sept. 13 for the next steps, I said thank you and hung up.

Does NVC re-assign a new case number? If so should I have gotten this new case number. I'm following the flow-chart on the K1 process. It just states to contact NVC so I did just that.

ya, NVC assigns the new case number.

When you give the USCIS receipt #, a NVC teleoperator can give you the Consular Casefile Number.

For you, it should start with 'GUZ' .

Called NVC, what to ask?

Hi ! My USCIS receipt number is <<insert USCIS receipt # here>> - Please give me my consular casefile number, starting with 'GUZ'.
