CR1 or IR1??

I have a question about IR1 and CR1 visas. The only posts about it that I've found are older, around 2011 and 2010, so I just want to be sure things are still the same.

Here's some background to help in answering:

My husband (Irish Citizen) and I (USC) were married May 8, 2012. We filed the I-130 in late August (can't think of the exact date right now). we'll be two years married on May 8, 2014.

Here's the question: If we meet the two year marriage condition by the time his visa decision is made, will the visa be sent out as an IR-1 automatically, or would we need to ask for this to be done??

If he enters US after your 2nd marriage anniv he would automatically receive IR1.

occasionally you have to double check the stamp at POE.. CBP often make a mistake on this ..

make sure it is initialed ir-1

as long as your POE is after the two year mark you are ir-1

if you get close to the anniversary effect with visa in hand, it is recommended to hold off on travel a touch for the ir stamp.. saves you about a thousand bux a two years down the road

Will keep that in mind. Thanks! I can't believe I'm actually hoping this visa takes its time. It would be so much better to get the IR-1 and not have the removal of conditions to worry about.
